Heya ladies

So I started on hormone blockers today, yeey!! :)
I have been on estrogel for 1 week and a half now, and its been going well!!!!

I have a question though.
Ive been prescribed with Leuprorelin injections, and wanted to know if any of you have been using these injections?

I notice that most people use Spiro as the testosterone blocker, is this through choice (Is spiro better), or is this just because spironolactone is what was prescribed to you and you didnt get a choice?

Thanks Zoe

I know very little about Lupron, but do remember this article in the NY Times:

I don't know much (anything really) about Lupron.  My Doctor, who has hundreds (thousands?) of transgender patients, told me uses Spiro primarily because of its long successful history.

Hi,

It is a GnRH agonist which means it inhibits your body from producing Luteinizing Hormones which is used to signal your body to produce more T. In short, your body will produce less T overtime. It is very similar with CPA but with a better safety profile.

It is hardly being prescribed to any post pubescent adults since it is less potable compared to just popping a pill :) However, it is a very powerful way to stop puberty when given to teens. It is basically what's given to anyone starting HRT at such a young age.

Also, there's no better AA over the other. It simply finding what works for you. Some do well with CPA, some with Spiro, some with Lupron or Finasteride.

It's a matter of just choosing your poison and what works for you.

Hope this helps.
