"Male-to-female (MtF) transgender persons have a greater increase in bone mineral density than female-to-male (FtM) persons in their first year of hormone treatment. The research helps scientists further understand the roles sex hormones play on bone development and maintenance in both sexes."

No Kidding! My bone mass increased after starting HRT. Now to explain the increase in my muscle mass! Was it the more estrogen receptors in certain parts of my body causing the L-type Calcium channels be more active or efficient that is involved to do both the bone and muscle maintenance? My younger brother and my two sisters has some bone loss. I visited mt brother 3 weeks ago. I now can see over his head! Did the DES my mom may have taken while pregnant with me triggered something about those estrogen receptors during my embryonic stage? Questions to be answered probably after my generation is long gone.
