How do you feel about tattoos and body art?

Do you love tattoos or body art?  planning to get some?  Want to show us yours?  I was a kid in the 1950s when only gang kids and drunken sailors seemed to get tattoos.  I got my first one done by another 15 yo and it was done with indian ink and a needle.  Women rarely had tattoos in the USA back then.  And now?  OMG the explosion of tats and body art is amazing and occasionally shocking.  Cultures evolve, thank goodness!

How do you feel?  It sometime seems to me that we are given to the stereotypes of our times as in "Icky, no tats for a real lady" sort of thinking.  How about you?

Lets not knock anyone else but express your taste for tats and body art please.

I think they are amazing and much of it really good art. Same with body mods, body piercings etc. I do not have any myself but i like seeing it on other people.

Personally I don't like any of it on either women or men.  I think the human body looks perfect as it is and those things only detract from that.

I like them to a certain extent.  It's up to individual taste and personally I'm not a big fan of sleeve tattoos.  I have a rose on my right ankle, a rose to the left of center on my chest, eagle feathers in an inverted V on the right side of my upper back and a dream catcher on my left arm at the shoulder.  I'm planning one more on my left ankle which will probably be a butterfly but I'm still trying to decide on colors.

I like them. Have several, large and small, and planning on several more.

Due to age I don't have any yet, but I'm planning on half/full sleeves, definitely a chest piece (disguise any weirdness from top surgery) and probably other stuff on calves, stomach whatever.

I personally (and obviously) really like them - and never liking my body being able to tattoo art over places, so that when I see a part of my body I see art, disguises and masks a part of me I'm not comfortable with.

The only tattoos I'm not so keen on are facial tattoos. Apart from that if it's for you go wild.

I love tattoos! I only have one so far because I'm constantly broke, but I would have tons of them if I could.

I like some tattoos, but I don't have any; I was in the military and a lot of people got stuff done, but I just didn't want one for myself, and I also got into competitive bodybuilding, so it really wasn't ideal to get a tattoo since they were considered to be a distraction on stage, and then I started doing some modeling and tattoos weren't really acceptable for that either during that time period.

I like the idea of little pieces of art scattered around my body. I have one picked out for my wrist that I really really like, but the circumstances I was celebrating by getting it have been indefinitely postponed, so 

I also want to get a tiny one behind my lower ear, not sure which side. There are good reasons for doing it on either side, so it's a tough decision. I also like the idea of a small ankle tat, and I'm thinking I'd put it on the inside. And poooossibly something small on or near those little pelvic bone protuberances. I've already got some scarring over one of them though, not sure how that would affect ink.

Lots of big talk for someone with no tattoos yet though, so we'll see

I love them! I'm planning on getting two this year. One on my calf for my great-granma and another on my arm for my brothers. Then two more just for me.

I personally think it's an art form. A way to express something about you on you. Doesn't hurt anyone but you. Now if it's clearly offensive, then I can't stand it. I even saw one in a town I used to live in and this dudes tattoo was just a swastika and the american flag... Like, no dude. No...

But otherwise I don't really care. I see no reason why jobs make having no tattoos a requirement. It doesn't hinder or help their ability to do a job. Besides, gives customers, guests, or people they deal with something cool to look at!

I like them on other people.  I used to not want them for myself, because I really like the idea of having a body very close to it's natural state.  But I've grown to really hate a lot of my male features;  and even more so My self harm scars.  I'm cut up all the way up and down my arms and legs.  Sometimes I feel like I would do anything to cover them up.

I don't like them in general, because most of them are ugly, though I have a few friends who are tattoo artists and I like their work.

I'm really only open to getting a back piece, perhaps out of sight out of mind, but might also distract from the fact that I have a hairy back and it's hard to get a good shave...but I'd want something really good, like album cover material...

I actually really like body piercings and tattoos
I have a lip ring and my ears are pierced, i wish i never got my ears pierced but iv'e actually grown to not mind it.
I really like my lip piercing but i don't normally have anything in.
I am wanting to get a tattoo eventually on my arm iv'e always wanted one there so before i know it i'll be covered in art haha.

Not got any myself but always wanted one, just on my shoulder/upper-arm. I think I'd want something gender neutral, any ideas? (clean suggestions only pls ;-) ).

I have one covering a scar on my upper arm (dog bite). I plan on getting it covered up with something a bit more feminine once I transition.

I love well done tattoos. I plan on getting at least one small one when I have the money. Probably of a retro game character.
