My Fiancee recommended this site to me today, to help provide me a better understanding and to help with possible questions that I may have.  I'm not one to label people...I don't see a point.  We all suffer from the human condition and I know life is fleeting...one moment begins as the other ends...and I am honored to be on this journey with the love of my life.  She is remarkably caring, amazing & loving and for that I am truly grateful.  I strive daily to be supportive of her choices.  I've loved her for 8 years, and I can only hope for a million more.

Totally agree with Marie- I admire your support and I felt the same about my SO- just make sure you keep communicating and keep loving- we are all here to listen.  I wish you the best :)

Dear SaraJane,

I really liked what you said. Your fiancee is very lucky to have someone as understanding as you. My wife has known about my struggle for 37 years and is now supporting my transition. It makes all the difference in the world. Good luck to you both. I hope to see you here again on the forum.

PS The two people who responded before me are really good people.
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

Thank you for your kind words...  I know there is a long road ahead for us... I know there are hurdles and possibly some rough times ahead.  I am looking forward to the journey wherever it may take us...together

Sarajane,

Welcome to the site.

What a great attitude. Yes, there are always problems in life but with love and communications... It may not end as expected but with positive outlook it does not all have to be dark.

There are a lot of people on here with vast ranges in ages, experience, location and location on the trans spectrum. In other words, a lot of people with info and support. I greatly admire your initiative to learn more and support your SO. I hope you find what you are looking for here.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

With warmth,

Joanna

I forgot to mention feel free to message me anytime.  Even though I've been destroyed by my ex- I still love the community of wonderful people I have met on here and want others to feel like they aren't alone.  Sometimes it feels to me like no one really "gets" what it feels like to be a SO (just like many people can't relate to what it must be like to be a trans individual).  They still look at struggles in the relationship as just any other old thing, or a break  up as just another breakup- when there are so many other feelings involved.  This is one of the places I have felt like people truly understand what Im going through- especially the other transwomen who are with their partners or had previous cis- female partners in the past.
