Quote from: lil_red on May 30, 2016, 04:00:33 PMMy favorite YouTuber is electricdade. He started his transition at 29. He's now 4 years in and had since stopped making videos, but he looks cis to me. I wouldn't be able to tell if I didn't already know. To be fair though, he looked pretty masculine before he started.Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk
Quote from: Ms Grace on May 29, 2016, 05:55:59 AMI think you'll find, especially in the past, that the majority of people transitioned in their later 20s, 30s, 40s... many still do. Age isn't a barrier to transition, in some cases it can even work better.
Quote from: purplewuggybird on May 29, 2016, 11:35:08 AMSomething to think about if you decide to transition later is that hormones, although they still work very well, take longer to come into full function. Also, your assigned gender body will likely already he fully developed so you would have more ground to make up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quote from: Valwen on May 30, 2016, 07:19:39 PMFor a trans guy, try looking up Alexander James Adams he is a folk/filk musician who spent decades performing at ren fairs and conventions as Heather Alexander before transition. Some of his music even has mostly hidden transgender themes in it. Serena
Quote from: Debra on June 02, 2016, 07:16:19 AMyes lots transition after 22. I transitioned at 28 and am basically stealth. Therefore, it is rather frustrating to watch 18-20 somethings complain about it 'being too late'. SMH
Quote from: Midnightstar on May 29, 2016, 04:12:22 AMHas anyone transitioned after 22 and did it work out even though you where older? I ask because I've just been thinking about somethings i don't really want to discuss or know how but i'm just wondering if transitioning older has worked out just the same as if you did it younger.I ask because someone once told me 23 was best bet because of bone growth stopping around that age, and to transition as soon as possible.
Quote from: Elis on May 29, 2016, 05:59:09 AMI had the same worry because the media only focuses on people who transition in their teens . While I'm sure most still medically transition after 20. There are 1 or 2 people on here who are much older than you and I and have begun taking T; which stops me from worrying so much. I've heard bone growth can stop around 22/23 but I think this is a rarity. Most people have their growth plates fused by 18. Because I started T at 21(even though it was late 21) I still hoped I'd grow an extra inch; but so far; no such luck . Although I've heard that T can do something to the muscles which might make you very slightly taller so still hoping for that.
Quote from: Peep on May 29, 2016, 07:29:24 AMThere are a quite a few trans men on youtube, I think Aydian Dowling was in his early twenties when he transitioned, and FinnTheInfincible (UK ftm on youtube) was 38, Charles Asher has been on YT for ages, though i'm not sure how old he was when he started out
Quote from: AnxietyDisord3r on June 02, 2016, 08:33:48 AMWhat happens is that you start standing up straighter post top surgery. My wife was astounded. "I didn't know you were that taller than me!"Seriously, I'm going to get one of those posture corrective shirts as soon as I'm off post-op restrictions so I can keep sitting and standing up straight.
Quote from: Midnightstar on June 02, 2016, 07:23:04 AMBut anyways thank you, and curious if you don't mind me asking and if your'e comfortable responding. Are you stealth to everyone or everyone but trans? I ask because sometimes i think about being stealth myself and sometimes i think about being open and active about it my feelings on that for myself change sometimes.
