Trump claims trans equality is 'too expensive', still plans to build giant wall

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2016/05/31/trump-claims-trans-equality-is-too-expensive-still-plans-to-build-giant-wall/

Pink News/Nick Duffy  05/31/2016

"Donald Trump, who plans to build a giant wall on the border with Mexico, has claimed that trans-friendly bathrooms will cost "billions" of dollars.
Republican Presidential wannabe Donald Trump had initially voiced support for trans rights, but revered his policy earlier this month amid a wave of Republican-backed bathroom bills.
He claimed last week that states like North Carolina should be free to keep their anti-trans laws, adding: "The party generally believes that whatever you're born, that's the bathroom you use. I say let the states decide.""
Speaking on The O'Reilly Factor, Trump came up with another reason trans people can't have basic equality – apparently it's too expensive.

Yes, it IS too expensive to be separate but equal. It seems as though this is a common theme in the south, no?

Who cares? We don't want separate transgender bathrooms anyway.

On an unrelated point, Mr Trump never said trans equality is too expensive. This is just more sloppy reporting and editing from PinkNews. What ever happened to Spreading lies about us is hate speech? Is it OK for us to spread lies and hate speech?

I actually found that comment of Mr. Trump's a wee bit hopeful, since he understands how ridiculous the concept of separate bathrooms are. Still not a Trump supporter and I'm not looking forward to the Trump presidency, but I think the LGBT community dodged a bullet when Cruz went down.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Donald Trump transgender North Carolina

This morning during an NBC News Town Hall, Donald Trump responded to questions submitted by people in the crowd and through social media, one of which had to do with transgender rights and North Carolina's anti-LGBT "bathroom bill" HB2.

Trump said the bill should not have been passed and neither should similar bills:

"I had a feeling that question was going to come up. North Carolina did something that was very strong, and they are paying a big price and there's a lot of problems. One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'leave it the way it is. There have been very few problems.' North Carolina, what they are going through with all of the business that's leaving and the strife– and that's on both sides. You leave it the way it is. There have been very few complaints they way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble, and the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic punishment they're taking."

Trump said he does not know if there are transgender people working in his organization.

"Asked Matt Lauer: "So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you'd be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?"

"That is correct," replied Trump.

Trump also said he disagrees with the creation of new, gender neutral bathrooms, saying it would be too expensive.

"I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way...Leave it the way it is.""
