My process:
1. Unwrap drawing needle and injecting syringe, switch tips so that tube is connected to drawing needle.
2. Unwrap a bandaid and lay it face up on my desk.
3. Pull out T vial and tuck it behind my knee to warm it up.
4. Unwrap an alcohol swab, sterilize leg and top of T vial.
5. Grab syringe/drawing needle and pull plunger until the black tip is just past my dose.
6. Put syringe in vial, push air from syringe into vial.
7. Tip vial upside down, pull plunger back to just past my dose.
8. Tap side of syringe to get air bubbles to float to the tip.
9. Push excess back into vial and take syringe out.
10. Swap drawing needle tip with injecting needle tip. Put drawing needle tip into sharps container.
11. On the sterilized leg, pick a point, cup that spot by holding hand like a 'C', and push needle into the gathered skin.
12. Once needle is all the way in leg, push down plunger until syringe is empty.
13. Remove needle from leg, let gathered skin go, cover injection site with bandaid, put injecting syringe into sharps container.
14. Massage leg.
I don't aspirate (pulling back on the plunger once the needle is in your leg). I rarely bleed, when I do it's usually a very small amount but every now and then it'll be a lot. I like to keep a small roll of toilet paper nearby to blot if there is a lot. I've had some T come out before, and I honestly couldn't tell you how much of my dose it is that comes out. I don't do anything differently when this happens, I just inject as usual the following week.
