Wearing mini-skirt while running outdoors

Probably there are some cultural differences. I prefer miniskirt to short pants when running outdoors for exercise. Some women here commented that very very few women wear skirt while running outdoors. But a lot of women do wear miniskirt while playing golf or tennis. Here also very, very few women wear sports bra for marathon, but I saw many in the U.S., even in my village.

I am just curious how many women wear skirt while running outdoors in other countries. Have you every seen any woman wearing miniskirt while jogging outdoors?

I haven't worn one and they are not common but some women do wear them for running.  Most though are just in shorts and a running shirt.

maybe I would if I had the legs and could run, but I don't see many mostly sports tights

I live in urban Texas and I don't recall ever seeing a woman jogging or exercising in a skirt. Shorts or leggings seem to be the only way that's done these days. In fact, I can't think of the last time I saw an adult wearing a very short flared skirt like yours. Around here, you'll only see those on very little girls.

But, don't worry too much about fashion, Barbie. You obviously dance to the beat of your own drum to a considerable extent. I think you're creating your own fashion statement and that's OK.

I've only seen them being worn for tennis here. I see shorts and tights here.

Shorts, a tank top, and maybe a sports bra for me. The sports bra is only because it feels good. I don't have breasts yet :(

I don't think I've ever seen it, and it gets pretty hot where I live. A miniskirt has the worry about flashing people and none of the advantages of shorts, like preventing chafing. (And a longer skirt would tangle in the legs and be impractical.) I think it would get some strange looks around here, to be honest.

The running skirts are made with a built in liner to avoid flashing.  They are little different than shorts.

I love to wear skorts and have several leggings purchased with the miniskirts sewed in. Comfortable for bicycle riding and no flashing for any occasion.

Wear what you dare and feels good. ;)

Yes. That is my intention. Whatever I wear, my colleagues, friends and students recognize me easily. I know it because sometimes they comment that they saw me running outdoors. Usually I wear a mask to protect my face from the UV, but they know it so easily. Yes. Also, very few women here wear bikini, but I do.

But I think it is also a good idea to mix together with other ordinary women here. I sometimes need to avoid unnecessary attentions.

My conclusion from the replies here is that wearing short pants is safe and appropriate in any country (except some Muslim countries?).
