My first visit to a OBGYN was asked if I had a hysterectomy. I replied with, see page two of the forms you asked me to fill out. Now that is confirmation.
I don't know what the MD recommend now, but some years back some recommended Pap smears for post-op ... nopt because we have cervix but on the theory that if the vaginal walls turned cancerous for any reason (after all it was not tissue that was originally intended to be inside) that might pick it up... I don't bother getting it done anymore, but years back I did.
Well I got a call from my gyn's office to come back in for a retest (the GYN herself who knew did the original test) ... The test came back as "not enough cells", In that situation for a GG they just routinely retest. Well without asking the GYN they scheduled me to come in for a retest.
I went in and a nurse practioner who sees lots of vaginas did the test. Some of what she said during the test made me think she might not know, but I thought that unlikely.
Well next time I saw the GYN she said that the nurse practioner had not looked at my records and was surprised as heck when the GYN told her I was a post-op TS (and also not to order retests in the future)!
I think I can safely conclude I passed 100% to that nurse practioner!
