Hi!  I'm Emily (she/her pronouns), and I've been lurking here for several months, reading quite a number of posts but never really saying anything myself.

I live in the Chicago metro area, so there are a lot of resources and plenty of support groups nearby.  But I've still learned a lot from these forums, especially when it comes to various surgeries.

Thank you for making this such a great site with a wealth of information and support.  I hope to join in some discussions and become a part of this community!  :)

While we had an unusually mild summer up to this point, lately it's been really hot and muggy.  Ugh.  I much prefer the cold winter over hot, humid summer days!
