Hi, I'm Ellen.

Although I just registered this morning, I have been coming to this site for a number of years checking on topics that have been in your forums.  As for me, I have spent the last 49 years of my life closeted and for the most part in denial about who I am - a transgendered woman.  I have done all the cliches to prove myself otherwise.  This week I just had enough and here I am, although still closeted!  I am so envious of all you men and women who have had the courage to live your lives as the individuals you are.  One day I hope to be among your ranks.

Hi, Ellen.  Well, I think you've found the bets place on the Web for information and a safe, friendly environment.  There are lots of experienced folks here to help you out.

Hi Ellen,

Welcome to the site. Your descriptions sound pretty similar to me. It was a little over a year ago at 50 when I came to the conclusion, myself. I am out to all my medical providers, my wife, my oldest of three and a few friends. However, I am pretty much closeted in day to day life too. I was in a very nervous spot when I was where you are.

We have members from all over the world, as well as of many ages and all over the trans spectrum. You must be full of questions. That's part of what this site and all those members are for. Put us to work for you.

Do you have a therapist. They are really important. In particular a gender therapist. They don't tell you what you are but they help to guide you through the confusing maze of a new world.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

Hi Ellen,
I'm 55 and have come to the same realizations as you this week. Life is too short to stuff ourselves into somebody else's ideas about who and what we should be. I think we have found a good place to start our new journey.

All the best,
Tina

Sorry for the request but this site needs our support.

Wow, thank you everyone.  Jpanna asked if I have a therapist.  I do but not for gender issues - depression and anxiety.  Imagine that!  I think I will be able to talk next session.  Thank you all for everything, and I  will do my homework, LOL
