After far, far too many years of pain, I am transitioning at 69.  I have never been happier or more content.  Also pleased that I seem to pass most of the time, unless my voice causes a problem.

My favorite YouTuber is electricdade. He started his transition at 29. He's now 4 years in and had since stopped making videos, but he looks cis to me. I wouldn't be able to tell if I didn't already know. To be fair though, he looked pretty masculine before he started.

I think you'll find, especially in the past, that the majority of people transitioned in their later 20s, 30s, 40s... many still do. Age isn't a barrier to transition, in some cases it can even work better.
Iv'e heard that a couple times but i think some of it is I'm skeptical and i always have to see things first
but once i do i tend to understand, which seeing what i did helped so thank you guys for the comments and helpful information.

Something to think about if you decide to transition later is that hormones, although they still work very well, take longer to come into full function. Also, your assigned gender body will likely already he fully developed so you would have more ground to make up.

From sounds of everything iv'e been hearing i think i'm at the point of that and
as long as it does what it needs i'm good :)  But i get what you mean

For a trans guy, try looking up Alexander James Adams he is a folk/filk musician who spent decades performing at ren fairs and conventions as Heather Alexander before transition. Some of his music even has mostly hidden transgender themes in it.

Ah, heather Alexander funny because even before i new about myself for some reason i loved her music
still do. And i'll take a look thanks :)

yes lots transition after 22. I transitioned at 28 and am basically stealth.

Therefore, it is rather frustrating to watch 18-20 somethings complain about it 'being too late'. SMH

Well, people have to learn and get information so i think it takes time not to say everyone
learns or eventually understands that but i know for me it took time probably because my information i have on everything around my area is very slim. But anyways thank you, and curious if you don't mind me asking
and if your'e comfortable responding. Are you stealth to everyone or everyone but trans? I ask because sometimes i think about being stealth myself and sometimes i think about being open and active about it my feelings on that for myself change sometimes.

Has anyone transitioned after 22 and did it work out even though you where older?
I ask because I've just been thinking about somethings i don't really want to discuss or know how
but i'm just wondering if transitioning older has worked out just the same as if you did it younger.
I ask because someone once told me 23 was best bet because of bone growth stopping around that age,
and to transition as soon as possible.

Yeah, the bone thing sucks but I pass pretty well after T and top surgery (ftm) and I'm 36. Look at pics of older guys who've transitioned. T does a lot. Of course it depends on your genetics. My voice has dropped just enough that it's not a deal killer that my old voice was. The flat chest and my stress-gut make my body confirm the rest. I don't think anyone even notices my hips. I did switch to a haircut that makes my face look less round. Definitely recommend keep experimenting with hair if your 'do isn't working.

I had the same worry because the media only focuses on people who transition in their teens  >:(. While I'm sure most still medically transition after 20. There are 1 or 2 people on here who are much older than you and I and have begun taking T; which stops me from worrying so much. I've heard bone growth can stop around 22/23 but I think this is a rarity. Most people have their growth plates fused by 18. Because I started T at 21(even though it was late 21) I still hoped I'd grow an extra inch; but so far; no such luck  ::). Although I've heard that T can do something to the muscles which might make you very slightly taller so still hoping for that.

What happens is that you start standing up straighter post top surgery. My wife was astounded. "I didn't know you were that taller than me!"

Seriously, I'm going to get one of those posture corrective shirts as soon as I'm off post-op restrictions so I can keep sitting and standing up straight.

There are a quite a few trans men on youtube, I think Aydian Dowling was in his early twenties when he transitioned, and FinnTheInfincible (UK ftm on youtube) was 38, Charles Asher has been on YT for ages, though i'm not sure how old he was when he started out

Ryan Sallans was 26 when he started transition (seriously thought he was a lot older) and it took him several years for the T to really change his face and bod but he looks grrrrrr-reat today.

Yeah; can't wait until top surgery so I can stand up straighter. I hope it'll make me seem taller too. Glad your wife was so happy about you seeming taller than her :D
They/them pronouns preferred.

Not sure what the difference is really. I'm only stealth to people who never knew me before or during transition, trans and cis alike.
