Okay, so about five minutes ago I tried this stuff they call wig tape for the first time. Yes, it sticks nicely. But what's the point if my head is going to smell like glue?

Ive never used the stuff but probably you can notice it more due to its proximity to your nose and most people won't smell it at all. Does the smell get less over time?

Je ne sais pas. I just opened the bag. We'll see in a day or two, I suppose.

PS: I thought you did use it! Like, I specifically thought you might have some insight into this. Hrmm.  :-\

I can't say I have ever noticed a smell and I've been using wig tape for years. Both the thick super gummy and now thin 'Clear' (not as good) tape. It's a small roll, 3/4" wide.

Full disclosure, I grew up across the bay from a slew of oil refineries as well as living in an industrial city. But... My wife can smell a deer in the woods 100 yards away and she has not said anything

YMMV?

Some people are more sensitive to certain odors

Après a few days of sitting out, the tape smells less gluey. And if I just use a little slice of it, there's no smell at all, really. I already fasten my wig avec bobby pins, so the tape ne pas un problème.
