I'd like to start off with saying how much better this site is compared to the others I've been on seeking help. Recently asked this same question on another site, but got deleted because apparently a crossdressing forum isn't about clothing. I figured those who crossdressed could help me out even though I am trans. :s But oh well, I'm back here.

I'm looking at a pair of jeans I want to get online, and I know sizing is very confusing with girls jeans. But, I'm getting closer to knowing what I need to know. When I wore regular guy jeans, I wore a 32-33 (wear sweat pants now) and I own a pair of jeggings that are size 8. But, those are different brands than the ones I'm wanting right now. I just realized the other day that a pair of skinny jeans that I own are the same brand as the girl ones that I want to get except they're for guys. They are a size 30, the girl ones I want comes in 30.5 which translate to a size 11. Considering they are the same brand, I can go by that, correct?

I ordered a shirt and accessories the other day and they came in a couple of days ago, and I was so happy because I think I could pass well but I need jeans now so thanks for any help!

Hey there. Unfortunately jeans like most clothing vary in sizing a lot. My waist is about 31 and i can wear sizes 8-12, that makes 10 a pretty decent bet, but not always - I own about 100 pairs of jeans (please don't judge me  ;D, we all have our issues), so i run into this a lot.

It is further confused by the fact that most women's jeans have a higher stretchy material content like spandex, than most men's jeans. Also sizing varies within brands and even within styles from season to season, because of their manufacturing and control processes, so the style that did not fit well last year, could fit well now.

Best advice is to try them on in the store if shopping retail, look at the user comments if shopping online and also buy two sizes and return the one that fits the worse.

I always think it's best to go into a store to try a bunch on or order a lot online and then return some. I can size literally 8-13 and I have found good fitting 13 and 8 jeans- it's so variable.

Thanks for the response. Unfortuntately the jeans I want are online only and not sold in stores, and returning them is out of the question as my car is currently broke down. But, the guy skinnies I have are the same brand as the girl ones I want, if I translate the sizes, shouldn't there be a good chance they would fit?

I'd say you have a decent chance of fitting in them yep. Sometimes you can do returns via the post office too - keep that in mind.

Still, no car so no way of doing that either. But, the jeans I want aren't in 30s (like the male ones), just 30.5 which is a size 11. So the .5 should give very little more advantage I suppose.

Jeans are a nightmare. Most of mine are 14s and without a belt, they'd just fall to the floor. I have 2 pairs of 12s that fit pretty well, but still need a belt. Every other pair of 12s I have are impossible to close or so unbearably tight, I feel like I'm putting a mid-section tourniquet on. I've found one brand that I know my sizing on and I never deviate from it. Hopefully they stay in business. Still since the two you're referencing are the same brand, I'd give it a go. Hopefully they're cheap just in case :)

Tape measure is your friend when it comes to online shopping. About jeans though I gave up on them cause of my measurements. I've opted for jeggings instead, just a better fit all around.

Women's jeans are all over the map. "Size" is a marketing tool as far as I can tell - as in OMG I'm a size 12 when your really not a OMG I'm a size 12.

Someone above suggested to go to a store and try some on. No one cares about the color of your money.......
