I've got my gender marker as male on my Colorado license, but I'm moving to Wisconsin. I will have to provide my birth certificate, which has female listed, to get a Wisconsin license. My question is will the birth certificate override the Colorado drivers license?

Also does anyone know if a hysterectomy is required for a gender change on a Wisconsin birth certificate. I would like to use my top surgery if possible because I will have to wait until I've worked one year at my job before I have enough leave.

Does anyone know any doctors in the Madison area that manage HRT?

While I was born in Wisconsin, I have never amended my birth certificate. I transitioned while I lived in California and on returning to Arizona, I only needed to give them my California license to receive an Arizona license. Birth certificates are required when you first obtain a license but a license should be sufficient identification when switching states. If in doubt, contact the Wisconsin DMV and find out what they require when issuing a license. They are pretty flexible on updating records but I still need to get a $^#$% court order to update my birth certificate.

A quick google indicates there should be no problem.
