I'm 19 yet still living at home, so I can't transition. I've been making plans on how to move out and transition for the past 2 years or so, but they either get messed up or were just unreasonable in retrospect. The best way was to go to a university (And start hrt there), but I didn't get in so I went to a community college and lost my financial aid after failing a course... I've tried getting a job to earn money, but with my luck, I never hear back. I wanted to start a clothing line and I was thinking of starting it and selling clothes and accessories I make early, but I know thats hard to do and it'd take much longer than I'd want to reach the results I need and want. In the end, I'm just a bit tired and I'm not sure what I should even do right now except that above all, I cant wait for hormones anymore. So if anyone has any advice, I would be very grateful.

sorry to hear your struggling, I have no answers except to find any kind of job. It took me 60 years to transition and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Sorry you are having trouble finding work. Hang in there, you will. I think you are on the right track about being in business for yourself. Maybe a clothing line is unrealistic to start, but with your interest in fashion, maybe something like t-shirt art, jewelry work, an Esty store for your creations etc.

For other work, you might want to try temporary agencies. Those gave me a lot work when i was your age and you kind of got to pick what you wanted to work at, and found out what you definitely didn't pretty quick.

Esty isn't a bad idea, I looked at that option too. I assume that at the very least, I'd get more exposure.

Temp agencies are great. Usually have plenty of work about for easy money.  You may not be able to jump in and transition right at the start, but you'll be taking home a wedge every week and from there - well, money talks and all that.

Best of luck.

Do you have any close friends who's parents might be supportive of your transition?  If so maybe you could see if you can use them as a back plan if telling your parents falls through?

Aloha!!  When I was your age-- 30 years ago--  I felt exactly the same way you feel now.  You are a smart girl who will get what she wants.  And deserves.  Never give up!!!  I just had breast augmentation surgery on June 28.  I'm 47 y/o.  And within the next few years, I will have a neovagina.  I wish I would have begun my transition years ago.
Never forget, you are still young.  Not only that, you're smart and have the strength to accomplish things beyond your wildest dreams.  Remember how special you are.  I hope my words have helped.  Take care, sweetie.  Steph
Don't really know what to write here...  So I'll just write a little about myself.  For conciseness, I am a 48 y/o pre-op transsexual who's in a wheelchair.  I'm wheelchair bound due to AVN(avascular necrosis) which took three and a half inches from my right femur and I acquired due to HIV.  I got infected by the first man I was ever with.  So, after spending 40+ years in Texas and getting three felonies, I decided to move to San Francisco.
I got here in 2010 and continued to drug myself until something happened...  I don't remember exactly what happened, but I do know I did something to ease my pain, which didn't help and I ended up in the ER.  After that, mind you I could still walk, barely, I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis.  Immediately I was sent to a hospital in really bad shape.  I was addicted to a copious amount of drugs and weighed less than 90lbs.  I was near death.  I spent two and a half years in hospital, quit drugs, got my own place and am doing quite well.
