I want to try to give some helpful advice to those who are concerned about passing.  Based on the photos I've seen over the last few pages...

#1.)  Smile!  Smiling with your lips closed doesn't count!  Smile and proudly show your teeth!  A big smile will do a lot toward improving your ability to pass, as cis women smile often - they're taught from an early age to keep smiling.  Plus, women look great when they smile; it's a very feminine thing to do.. very disarming and enchanting.  Even if you have crooked or missing teeth, who cares?  Cis women have bad teeth too, but they smile regardless.  Whether you're trying to pass out in public or just in a photo, smile a lot!  :D

#2.)  Get those bushy eyebrows groomed!  This is really important, much more than even using makeup.  Cis women spend a lot of time and money on their eyebrows, and many trans women don't realize this early on.  Go to a salon and get your eyebrows waxed and threaded.  After the first session, you may only need to maintain them with threading.  In between visits to the salon, maintain the shape of your eyebrows by plucking them with tweezers.  Once you start paying attention to the eyebrows of other women, you'll realize what you've been missing out on!  There is nothing more feminine than thin, arched eyebrows!  ^^

I could apply those comments to just about all of the pictures I've seen so far, and if you're trying to pass (which I'm assuming you all are, since you're posting in this thread), then these are 2 really easy steps you can take!  :)

Very good points, I can't touch eyebrows as I'm not out, I would be milled if I touched them :S

Obviously I am the female in both these pics. I have always run myself down about passing. I think it is more noticable to your own self because you can see where the masculinity is especially in the brow ridge/nose/jaw

Hi Aleah,

I looked at your brow ridge, nose and jaw and I can't see it.  You look very much like a woman I know.

Hi everyone.
I'm not really sure where to put this, so I post it here. This is the first time I'm posting a photo of me anywhere.

I got a nice haircut yesterday so I thought I'd take a picture. I usually pull my hair back into a pony tail during the day, and this was just before I did that.

I'm 48, a bit overweight and I've been on hormones for about 17 months now. I don't think I'm ever going to fully pass or transition, but I do get ma'amed on occasion from the front and often from the back and I don't really hide my transgenderness from the world.
I think I look like a butch lesbian (is this term PC?) at times.

You looks like a cis woman for me. It took time before I found you at the picture. First I noticed that guy in the gray clothes (I assumed he was your friend/love), then I noticed a woman (I assumed it was your bestfriend) and then I tried to find the third person at the picture. But there were no third person, then I figured out that woman sitting there is you. I did read her as a cis woman, so I continued to looking. x'D

The hairline and the big forehead is the main things that makes you appear more masculine. If you had a bang that covered the hairline and the forehead, you would appear more feminine. You doesn't pass 100% yet in my opinion. But without the high hairline, you would indeed pass easier.

Such lovely smiles in the last several photos!  That's what I like to see!!  :D

AleahHart, you pass 100%.  And you not only pass, but you look very beautiful!

KristinaM, I think you also pass; you have a very cute look and an AMAZING smile!  And I love how happy the baby looks too!!!  But since you say you're self-conscious about being clocked, I will suggest this: don't put your cell phone in your front pocket.  Only men do that, from what I've seen.  Either put your cell phone in your back pocket (which I see young girls doing often), or put it in your purse/bag.  Putting the phone in your front pocket makes your silhouette look less feminine.. if it's in your back pocket, it's like a natural extension of your butt.  But in the front pocket... you have this bulge in the front of your pants, and it just messes up the clean lines of your figure.  Just remember not to sit on your phone if you put it in the back pocket, lol.  :)

KarinMcD, I'm sorry but I have to be honest and say you don't pass.  But you already know this, as you wrote as much in your post.  You have a fantastic smile, but your receding hairline is a pretty big tell.  Also it would really help if you lost weight, as that would help reduce the appearance of a large chin.  Something else you can do is groom your eyebrows so that they're thinner and more defined...

I was talking to my cis sister today, and she said that if there's nothing else she does with her makeup on any given day, she'll take the time to shape and fill in her eyebrows.  Eyebrows are soooo important in looking feminine as they frame the face and lift up the eyes when done properly.

Thank you everyone :) and yes the scars are reminders of my dark past. I did have trouble in the beginning. I was so young and immature and tortured by my own mental restraints. Today i am set free five years since hrt and living as me

Yeah, I've always had a fivehead. ;)

I'm happy though and that's what counts.

In fact I don't think the fivehead makes you masculine. The most significant difference between men/women is the brow ridge, not the forehead height. There are plenty of gorgeous women with big and round foreheads (it's a neotenic trait).

You're not that far from passing though. Eyebrow grooming, weight loss and maybe some surgery on brow/jaw and you'll be done.

Your results for just 6 months on HRT are really really good. You're very very difficult to read as transgender right now. Only a person who knows really good what to look for could tell, and this would be just because your brow ridge (and it's not even very noticeable). So If I were you I would stop worrying about passing issues.

You're passing 100%. If you go for facial surgery it would be just for cosmetic purposes only.
