Emma, you're PRE-HRT?  Damnation, girl!  From those photos I originally thought you'd been on HRT for a year or so.  You're going to do fine.

Such nice words! Makes my day! Thank you! ^^ Looking forward to my start of HRT! :)

Oh, heck.  All right, go for it.

Do I pass as a ciswoman yet?  I don't think I'm doing too badly for a 63 year old. I've got Mom's nose and chin[emoji6].

Come to think of it, I look a lot like Mom did at this age. I'm taller and heavier, but looking at this snap and an old shot of Mom is a little unsettling.

Hi Michelle,

My very honest perception, no sugarcoating:

I like the hair, and the clothing choices. Very nice I must say... for your age you look good! I would say you should pass in public, but some might question. But remember, I am deep into FFS and I notice things that others (non T folks) don't. From my point of view, you can pass in public for the most part. The only area that might distort this perception would be the nose. I don't know if you are interested at all in FFS, if not, ignore this. But a rhinoplasty would help and probably shift you from mostly passing, to completely passing in my opinion. Again, I look with the eye of someone who has had FFS, and I know every tiny detail about faces, so I look for them instead of absorbing the whole.

For passing in any situation, I would only suggest the nose. Passing and beautiful are two different things. I think you would look absolutely beautiful with two FFS procures: The nose and chin. I might say, that with only two procedures you are lucky. I had to do it all;D

Thank you Sowilo, I do love my hair, one of my main assets :3
Thanks for those comments!, they are much appreciated.

Aw Dani, I'm sorry you had to repress it for so long, I did the same, I told my mum first at 20, It was this year at 25 in March, I seen my Therapist for the first time, and in July I started my hormones, it worked out as I am living on my own now and turned 26 in May.
I spent 5 years after I told my mum, trying to repress it again, she was not cool with it. I knew for years and years before that too.
We have all done it, it is the plight of us all :/
But so happy for the younger generations who can be much more open about who they are.
I am relatively young, but my parents wher very old fashioned and it has left scars on all 4 of us siblings.
Anyway enough of the gloomy stuff, we are all beautiful in our own ways, inside and out. We just need a chance and love in our lives and in our hearts.
Thank you all :)
thanks for the PM! I apparently need more post to reply but I will reply top your pm when i can. Take care!

For a 63 year old you look awesome! :) I know it is harder when you are a little bit older. Starting at the age of 29 is a blessing for me. But... you look damn good aswell miss :)

Aww, thanks.  Alas, 2cherry is right.  I got the nose and chin from Mom (and Dad's hairline :P ), but those need work.  I'm using some light contouring tricks in that photo to try and reduce the nose a little.  Heavier, and the contouring looks very odd and obvious from some angles.  I also am using a trick around the eyes so they don't look so deeply set, a concealer lighter than my foundation.

Rhinoplasty (nose), blepharoplasty (eyelids), narrowing genioplasty (chin), and chondrolaryngoplasty (Adam's apple) are in my future.  And maybe tighten things up, Doc?  I have a shopping list...  If they could just bring the hairline forward 9-10 inches...  ;).  If Kaiser isn't willing, a nice vacation in Thailand might be in order.

Michelle,
You look terrific.  Congratulations!

One thought:  As the president, I hope the membership of your Ameteur Radio club have the ability to appreciate your progress.  Being a Ham, having been in this hobby for most of my life, I'd guess it could go either way.   Hams are a really nice bunch of people but mostly older pretty conventional "guys," arguably in a hobby that could be considered one of those hypermasculine ones.  That said, there are women in the radio hobby; more as time passes.   You are increasing the ranks.  Another round of congratulations!

I think decades ago, there would not be a problem. But people are educated and can spot a trans more quicker than ever, because they know what to look for now. Which increases the pressure for us to break the mold and aim higher. Besides this, this intense focus on beauty in these times is problematic for almost any woman. It's expected you look your best these days, while a few decades ago you would look gorgeous if you were average. It's crazy, but what can we do... the bar is raised too high with all this photoshopping.

I could have passed 100% without FFS in 1990. But today, without FFS, even when I thought I looked average people clocked me. They've been exposed to trans phenomenon too much.

I agree completely with this.  On the one hand, if you get clocked, people are more likely to be ok with it - because society is more accepting of trans people.  On the other hand, you're more likely to get clocked in the first place - because the general public is so much more aware of trans people and know what to look for.  It is harder than ever to pass these days.

Yes. A few years ago, a young lady approached me in a beach, asking boldly whether I am transgender. She said I am too tall, and there was a 'transgender bar', in which I have never been.

While I visited San Diego of the US a month ago, I felt a kind of the same feeling, but nobody mentioned it. At a wal-mart store, an old man behind me asked "how tall are you?", although I was wearing flat sandals. At a public restroom in a park, an old lady suddenly blocked me in the entrance, just commenting I am so much tall. I was a little bit startled, but she did not mention anything like 'transgender'.

barbie~~
Just do it.

Hi Tonya,

I think you have a lot of potential with HRT.  You have a feminine/androgynous look right now.  The second pic with the app hair doesn't really help.  The hair looks too fake.  You might want to try a wig.  I always think it's good to show your ears too, maybe add some clip-on earrings.

I hope this helps.
Paige :)

Hi Paige
Thanks for the input
Very much looking forward to HRT but that won't start until February at earliest.

The fake hair was mostly playing with color and style.  I know it looks awful and fake in the picture. Not sure why I posted it.

I do have my ears pierced but can't see that in the picture.  It was only abut 2 weeks after the piercing.  I  can and do wear earrings other than the starters now.

Does my face pass without makeup? Please be honest.
I have hyperpigmentation on my neck area from shaving in my teens and I'm trying to fix it rn with laser and lightening neck creams.  However I was wondering can I still go without makeup and pass.

To me you look androgynous without makeup.
