Nancy Pelosi, the Human Rights Campaign, Congressman Barney Frank and a host of others will see to it that either no ENDA will pass this year or that it will not include transsexuals as a protected class.
Contemporary news is replete with people being canned from their work because of their gender presentation. Pelosi is searching for a red herring, something that she and Joe Solmonese of the HRC can use to "prove" that protection for transsexuals in not needed in the ENDA.
When I lived in Alexandria, VA I opened my apartment to our sisters as quarters while they went up to Capitol Hill to lobby for an inclusive ENDA. That was in 2003 and 2004.
