First t shot

So I just did my first shot, and it didn't hurt at all which has me worried that I didn't do it right, like maybe it didn't go into the muscle.  The needle was a 1" 25 gauge. Does this sound right? Asking because it looks smaller than most of the YouTube videos I've seen?

I use a 25G 1.5" to inject into my thigh. I end up sticking it probably 3/4 of the way in or a little more. For me, there's no real discernable difference in terms of feel to know if I'm getting it in the muscle or not. The nurse told me as long as the needle I use is in past the halfway point, I should be fine.

I know hard to believe such big needles don't hurt more but they don't that even goes for the 22 gauge ones I use for my HRT. Hugs

I use 22G 1½" needles for my shots (IM). Or my fiancée does, I don't self-inject. I don't think I could even use much smaller needles, Nebido is thick stuff.

 1-1 1/2 inch is typical for the intramuscular needle lengths. Maybe your pain threshold is more tolerable than most folks. It doesn't hurt too much going in it's just the breaking of the skin that stings. As long as you are pushing the needle all the way in then you should be good to go.

Make sure you don't inject in the same spot every time. kind of move around the area.

Thanks, everyone, for the reassurance.  My muscle is a little sore today so I guess i got it in there good.
