I have a bad habit of using 'dude' and 'bro' a lot

Its my slang in how I casually speak. I tend to use it for everyone regardless of gender

...this is a bad idea because I have friends who are transwomen, ahaha

I try to avoid it because it can still hurt anyways, oops

I can relate. I've done it since I was in my pre teens and that was long before the idea of transitioning came about. I get mixed responses. I sometimes feel a little childish, especially after I hear a major frat like dude say it and I just want to eradicate from my vocabulary. That is until I go and bro about 20 minutes later.

I 'dude' and 'guys' everyone. Always have, always will. Cis woman, trans woman, cis man, trans man - makes no difference. i just try not to do it at work.

Not really dude or bro but definitely 'mate' and 'pal'... mate is one that i'm used to being used as unisex though

I grew up calling everyone of any gender "dude". I understand this usage comes from Boston University college slang and it's been around a long time. I once called a woman from Texas dude and she exclaimed, "I am a dudETTE." Lol.

My friends used to call everyone "guys" also, even groups of all women. We liked anything gender neutral, but it did get into a fight with "grammatically correct" whatever that means.

I used to use "guys" for everybody, but people would say "I'm not a guy" so I ended up stopping, I guess... I sometimes say "man", but I haven't spoken to people other than my family for a while so I can't even remember my own talking habits xD
