Mariah

So 2 years ago today, even though it wasn't the planning on doing it that day, I had my name legally changed from my dead name to Mariah It's hard to believe that it has been exactly 2 years already but it has. Now to give some background my original intent that day was to go to my consult for laser hair removal on my face, but I goofed up getting out of the house early enough to get over their on time so it had to be rescheduled. The end result was I knew that I could go to Prosser (The county seat in the county I live in) and get my name changed the same day,  Which was fantastic. Now if I had done it in the City I lived in which is the main population base for the county I would have had a several week wait to go into court and see the judge and get it taken care of. This allowed me to change it with ease and speed on my own schedule. The clerks office was even the ones that told me about it and the more I thought about it I knew I had to do it there. Anyways this also marks the 3 months tell I head off for SRS point too. It's kind of ironic these two points aline, but very cool at the same time. Anyways I thought I would share that with all of you. Hugs

Congrats! Changing ones name is one thing...then comes the "fun" of changing all other documentation...licence, bank accounts, tax, voting details, electricity/phone/etc...and on it goes. I still receive a few bills in my former name for various items, mainly because it was too much hassle to change it.

Happy anniversary, Mariah!

I wish I had the same day option. My name change is going nicely, but has taken two months already and still counting.

Congrats Mariah, time is flying!

Are you changing to Devlyn Marie? Devlyn Marie?

I made a big mistake changing to Peta Cindy instead of loosing the Peta, I thought to would be good for tracking of my academic record but it now bites me back. I go to my hospital appointments and they ask for Peta and I don't respond. But changing my nam again seems to be so much work (even though it is just a form in Aus and some money, there is no going to court or anything).

It took me several months to get everything changed over. One bank took forever to finalize it due to their own internal forms. Even 2 years later I'm still receiving junk mail in my old name. Hugs

Congrats! Time does fly by! A name change in one day is unheard of where I am from. My was still a short time compared to some who have posted on this site. From submitting the forms to have all ID changed took about four and half months. It did not help that I was out of the country for three of those months. It is interesting, and frustrating, to find out how many things have to be changed. I still have one 'card' that needs changing and have not figured the best way to do that. All the Best as you approach you next goal!

My full legal name is going to change to Devlyn Marie Tracey. I'm losing all of my previous name.  :)
