Hello everyone,

I'm Aayden,

I have kind of lurked around for a while before finally deciding to join. I've struggled with my gender since I was very young but never really had support from my family. When I'd talk to my mom about it she just told me I was a tom-boy and to get over it. Once I got to an age where I could research, I knew I was transgender but up until yesterday, I've never told anyone but my husband. I came out to family and friends yesterday and the response has been mixed. I've been so depressed lately and coming out seemed to be like a big weight off my shoulders, even if not everyone agreed with it. Now I'm working on trying to find a gender therapist and finally start transitioning at 27...I wish it had been sooner but now is better then never! I came here to learn, make new friends, find people I can relate to and share my journey. Thanks for having me!!

Hi Aayden, welcome to Susan's. Early responses back can change so you never know, but a mix response is probably similar to the response I had. Many of us go through that too of wishing we had done it sooner, but congrats on starting at 27. You have a wonderful way of looking a at things and that should take you far in your transition.
