I've never really used womens bathrooms but the common perception seems to be that women leave their public bathrooms far cleaner than men do.

What is your take on this from the perspective of having used both?

Note - next bit is a bit of a crude rant so don't read if you're a bit body function adverse.

I work in an office and what some people may not be aware of, but in my experience is ture, is that office workers have really bad bowels. At least the men do anyway. I walk into those bathrooms some mornings and I can't believe how people can get crap where they do. I mean sometimes skids are unavoidable, but this goes way beyond that. They must be tying their shoes while trying to go, practicing what to do in the event of a plane crash, or jumping up and down at the same time or something. Either that or the business end is mutated to allow stuff to go up instead of down. It really disgusts me. We have a nice new building and the bathrooms are cleaned well, it is beyond me how some users do so much damage. And the urinals - the mess everywhere makes it look like some people must be trying to piss in their own mouths! I say if you can't aim straight then sit down to pee people! I can't imagine what their home toilets must look like.  :icon_shakefist:

Naturally, obviously, without a doubt, the ladie's room is cleaner...  :P

There is really no comparison here.  I think it is at least partially because guys don't aim before they shoot.

I think we should start a petition, Tink.  Know of any activists who like this kind of work?

[WOMEN] is definitely cleaner.  And nicer.  And I like the lounge area (when provided) where I can pause to look for something in my purse that slipped to the bottom.  And ditto the makeup counter with good lighting and a nice chair or two.

Even when other women 'hover' to go, the seat is cleaner.

Yes, for that reason alone, nevermind the other amenities, I much prefer the sign of the blue circle...

A couple of years ago, I took a week off work to help out with the admin for a sports tournament.

I was asked one day to go clean the the toilets out, so off I went.

Mens:

Urine every where, toilets mostly full, not flushed, no toilet paper, urine in the hand basins, no soap, no towels, a scrawlled sign on the wall noting the highest level achieved in the "Who can pee the highest competition" ... basically disgusting.

Womens:

I replaced the flowers, air freshners and emptied the waste bins. Checked the soap was OK and left.

That really does sum up the difference.

Women's rest rooms are almost always cleaner though I haven't actually seen the inside a mens room in 10 years. I also imagine it depends on where you're going. I went into a "lady's" room once and it was so bad I couldn't use it. That was the last time I ever went to that club.

Women's rooms are cleaner, and nicer. With the exception that when a toilet breaks, men will try and fix it. Women will continue to use it. Which leads to a fair bit of grossness in the women's room.

They both can be pretty gross.

Women's public showers are definitely grosser than men's public showers. People wipe their fallen hair all over the walls, there's always some unidentifiable gel or cream or liquid on the floor tiles, and you may end up showering after someone who had their period if you're VERY unlucky.

LOL. Guess you've had a few bad times then.

I've been in some really gross women's rooms.  My mother always said they were worse, and I can see her point.  But I think the number of gross women's restrooms is fewer than the gross men's ones.

Women's, all the way.
And there are more and bigger mirrors in theirs.
