My scheduled surgery date with Dr. Bowers has been pulled ahead from February 14, 2017 to September 27th.  The February date was set back in May 2015. So, I was initially given a 21 month wait and that has been trimmed to about 16 months.

I mention this to the group because I know that Dr. Bowers' wait list is very long and I have at least one data point of someone getting in a little earlier than expected.

Kim :)
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I called for an appointment with her on 9/2014, at that time Robin indicated a one year wait time but also noted I could be put on a list for cancellations. I actually received a call from her that I could get in earlier but I declined as I had set myself for 1/2015 and was not in a rush.

Surgery went as expected, no bumps in the road other than a tad bit of bleeding which Marci fixed three hours after surgery with two or three stitches. Those who looked after me, the nurses all were great. Manner of fact a week after returning home I received a card from the nurses all wishing me well.

On a side note, I selected StayBridge suites for my two week stay and was an excellent choice. All the employees are well versed with post-op transgender people and understand what we go through. I flew in from Portland Oregon and decided not to rent a car as the hotel will drive you to where you need to go and pick you back up again.

Marci and those who work with her made it well worth the wait time.

I am and have been for quite a while.  Happily I am at or near the top on it now.

I signed up in Aug 2015 and got a May 2017 date.  I instantly got on the cancellation list.  I had to wait until summer 2016 anyhow to have the surgery because of the 1 year real life requirement.

I just got the call.  I feel bad for whoever had to cancel but, early Sept.
I'm excited and suddenly apprehensive now that it's going to really happen.
