Gruesome memories from movie - The Gravity 2013 film

In anno 2013 I watched a scary movie called "The Gravity". It's about a few (clumsy) astronauts in space. It's the scariest movie I have seen in my life. Usually I don't watch scary movies because I hate being scared. I though the movie was a normal action movie and I didn't expect a so scary movie. It's soon 3 years ago I watched the movie. I doesn't think at it so often. But when I first think at it, I shiver. It's pretty much gruesome. Scariest movie I've seen as I can remember.

I can watch people in movies being beheaded, killed and being bloody without any problems - without being scared. I can even watch "Being Human UK" when J. Mitchell the vampire kills people in a train, so the body organs shows. But I couldn't take it, when it came to "The Gravity". I can't remember the graphic pictures exactly. I can just remember the dead people in the movie were very creepy and scary looking. Death people in other movies doesn't look so scary. "The passion of the Christ" is a child friendly movie compared to "Gravity", in my opinion.

Are there anybody else who has gruesome memories/experiences from movies? I don't think "gravity" is a bad movie, just too horrible - scary. It's 11 years age limit at it.

I think films which show things that could actually happen are the scariest. I've watched all Final Destination films and even though it's fiction; I'm still hesitant of ever getting laser eye surgeon or using a sun bed in case I have a gruesome accident. I remember that scene from Being Human; I didn't think it was gory or overly violent at all. I have yet to watch Gravity. I remember as a child we owned a video tape of the original 'The Thing' film from the 1950s. That film was unbelievably creepy and disturbing, not helped by the sound track. I still won't go near that film today. I also will never go near Donnie Dark again or Psycho . The film Signs scared me as a child but it's just about bearable to watch now; although I wouldn't choose too.

for me scariest movie are the one's that were, or could be true..Schlindler's List, Platoon, I recently saw Everest...there is no way I would ever be on that mountain..they call the top third of that mountain "the death zone" for a reason.

i have always hated scary movies, my friend loves zombie movies and he convinced our group of friends to go see a movie called "the hills have eyes", the scene were the father is tied to a post and lit on fire while the abominations sneak into the trailer and rape the daughter had me so upset to this day it still stands as possibly one for the most upset moments in my life, i actually walked out of the movie after that scene, i just couldn't take it

To this day " the silence of the lambs" is the scariest and creepiest movie I have ever seen. I remember leaving the theater with my girlfriend, and the usual cheery chit chat by everyone was replaced by stunned silence.  I double checked all of the locks on the Windows and doors before going to bed that night.

Same here. Movies where the action could happening in real life are indeed the creepiest. I have watched Schindler's list movie, the 1993 one. It's very horrible things that happening in it, especially since it's based at a true story. Schindler existed in real life. Since it's black and white movie without so many modern effects, it didn't creep me too much. Gravity had very graphic disgusting pictures and it was a bit real, if I remember right. If you dare to, you can google it. I wouldn't recommend you google it. I didn't sleep at ca. 2 nights after I watched the movie.

The part where George Clooney came back in was terrifying. I was afraid the schmaltz was going to kill me.

Nah, I didn't think Gravity was frightening per se, but space itself is quite frightening. It's a completely alien and hostile environment for a human being to be in, the slightest malfunction in life support systems in our suit or ship and you are going to be very dead. I love space movies, but I find space itself to be both terrifying and amazing.

I don't watch gut rippers, those are just annoying to me. I prefer the psycho-terror movies. They do creep me out for quite some time after viewing, though

As my S.O. said, "it hits too close to home for comfort". Some people might just find it visually disturbing. I found too many similarities in the concepts of The Wall to life in general for it to be entirely comfortable watching, once I knew what it was all getting at. One of my all time favorite albums though.

"Hits too close to home" was exactly the phrase I was looking for...Little did I know when I first saw PFTW I was in the early stages of a major mental health difficulty, and I recognized many of the themes in a very personal manner.

Truly disturbing for sure.

As a child movies with monsters like Gremlins and Critters terrified me.

As an adult, any movie where a baby or young child is killed is too much for me to handle. One of my kids is the same age as Gage from Pet Semetary (and just as energetic), and that character's death scene from that movie is almost every parent's worst nightmare. When Stephen King wrote that book, there was a real life instance that inspired the whole story; as he and his family were outside, his then two year old son ran towards the road. Stephen caught his son just in time before a huge truck sped by. He lay in bed that night thinking to himself, "what if I was too late", and Pet Semetary came to be.

I also hate seeing people get decapitated/their heads mutilated in movies. It may not be the absolute worst way to die, but I think it's th most gruesome-looking way.
