I am experiencing a need for more sleep the past few months on HRT.  In fact, I generally pass out each night while trying to watch Hulu.  I am sleeping very well and very deeply though and would probably have totally uninterrupted sleep if it wasn't for the evening spiro that wakes me up once or twice each night.  I'm not really concerned with this because I am sleeping better than I have in a very long time.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this also.

I have noticed that i get tired easier and want more sleep.  I often wonder if it's my body development or depression,  likely both.  I have never just fallen asleep but i do feel it.

Is it the depressed little voice inside? Whispering in my ear? Telling me to give up?

Yeah, I'm not sleeping well at all. About 3 blessed hours here and there is the best I can do. And yet I've never spent so much time in bed in my life - I feel so exhausted sometimes but unable to actually sleep.

I'm guessing once autumn gets here and the weather cools I'll probably (hopefully?) have a hard time not sleeping - I'll be catching up on a summer's worth of poor sleep. It happens every year; 90+ degrees every day? Calm down, Sol, I'm not made for this >:(

I'm glad you're sleeping well though! It's important, and makes you feel so much better.

Post starting HRT i have required more sleep too. I used to be able to fully function on just about 4-5 hours. Not anymore. My sleep feels more restful and i dream also.

I am remembering my dreams a lot better than before too.  Some of them are pretty weird too.  LOL

Me too! Last night it was imagining my brother building a new deck at our house and me trying to keep a herd of llamas in the yard. (seriously, i do like both llamas and apalcas, but i have no idea where that came from)

I need to start writing mine down.  They are usually pretty vivid but the details fade pretty quickly after I wake up.

I also am feeling more tired than pre hrt and have been falling asleep in the middle of evening news. I don't believe that I am missing much as it is mostly political election noise. Spiro has me waking a couple of times each night but I find that I am able to get 6 or 7 hours a night. Funny that you should mention dreams, I have been having more of them and last night I remember being out and about in a new outfit and got mam'd consistently.....great dream. This was the first time that I recall dreaming of being Anne.

I certainly remember one I had last week.  I was sitting in my endo's exam room and he was telling me I had to stop HRT.  In the dream/nightmare I was screaming "No No No" before I woke up.  My wife said I was actually saying No over and over in my sleep.

I've been meaning to ask this also, I'm 7 months in and have needed a lot more sleep / or been more fatigued if I don't get it.

My first guess was it may be due to body building new tissue which certainly takes it out of teenagers so could be true for us also. Do trans women experience this after years of HRT? Do FTMs?

And yes far more vivid dreams, or at least I'm remembering dreams more often than I have in many years.

Sleep feels so much better now.  I remember I use to have a real difficult time going to sleep and would have to toss around and find a comfort spot.  Now, I pass out before I can even get my head to the pillow.

I think part of that muscle loss makes me feel like I am working harder throughout the day.  It's like a really big work out and I become sore.

15 months on HRT, the last 3 on injections. It wasn't until I started injections that the sleepiness started. Now I fall asleep waiting for the 9pm news. I had the same experience with the vivid dreams starting up along with injections.
With the pills we could never get my E up over 139, now I'm sitting at 400 and feeling great!
Oh ya, and the spiro... have surgery scheduled for end of November, I won't miss you spiro, or the nightly wake up calls!

I had one of those vivid dreams last night.  For some reason I had 20 months of hair all cut off.  It was outright traumatic. LOL

Sleep is over rated...I know, I know. I have had restless nights for years. I'm up around 3 or 4 am. Stay up a bit, then go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Its rare that I'm up til 11 pm, more like 10 15.

I've been having the vivid dreams for sure, and waking up after such a short time means I can recall them really well for a while afterward. I haven't dreamt anything too off the wall or upsetting, just slightly odd things.

I go to sleep quicker but wake up after about 4 to 5 hours and cannot go back to sleep. Hope after a few months that cycle will start to change to all night sleep.
