Has anyone had forehead work (i.e. brow bossing removal) WITHOUT getting a scalp advance done at the same time?  I'm still on the fence about getting a scalp advance, because while I'm almost 40 yrs old, my hairline hasn't receded at all, as far as I can tell.

But the two procedures often go hand-in-hand, so I'm wondering what the outcome would be if I didn't do both...

Hi,

While I am envious of your hairline, the surgeon can do forehead work with only 3/8 inch advancement.  You shouldn't even notice it.

Just make sure to communicate your desires.

Hugs

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

This ended up being good advice, thank you.  I did get a scalp advance, and it was very minor.  3/8 inch as you said.  It gave me a more feminine hairline (not really visible in most situations, but if I ever go out with my hair pulled back, my now-feminine hairline will be visible.

I decided that by removing bone from my brow area and orbital rim, I'd have extra skin.  I didn't want to have saggy skin on my forehead due to the underlying bone removal, so I decided that the scalp advance to tighten up the forehead area was necessary.

Not only does my forehead look more feminine now, but the minor wrinkles I had are gone too, thanks to the surgery.  I had an upper eyelid blepharoplasty too, which had the added benefit of getting rid of my crow's feet.  All this makes me look even younger.  I don't think I will need botox for a long long time now.  :)

I had forehead type 1 with  dr bensimon without scalp advance on sept 12.  Instead of having scar directly on forehead ( visible) , it is on the middle of my hairs and not visibile at all ;)
