i have my top surgery in montreal in march. i have a few questions for people who went there from ontario:

how much did it cost for your trip generally if you drove?
did you have people who went with you?
if so, where did they stay?
what did you bring with you?
how was your experience?

i'm going to be driving there from ontario since it is only like 4 hours away and i have two family members coming so i want to know the general cost on how much i should save up for this trip.

This is where I plan to go as well, moved to SSM a few years ago so its just as far as going down to the GTA. A friend of mine had her breast augmentation done there and she had nothing but amazing things to say about the staff and results. She is going there for her bottom surgery later this year and judging by her excitement I'd say it's a great place to go.

I also hear that montreal is the only place that includes chest conturing in the OHIP covered top surgery, do you know if that is true? that is a big deciding factor for me, I'm not made of money haha.

If you're in the GTA and considering going to Montreal, you can actually get it covered in the GTA by OHIP now. I used Dr. McLean a few years ago when I had my surgery and would 150% recommend him! Comparing my results and experiences with those of others who went to Montreal or used other surgeons, I'm super happy I went with him. Its no surprise he's considered a top surgery pioneer the way he conducts everything (been doing them since the 70's or 80's apparently). He just seemed to go the extra mile on everything. He's in Mississauga and ever since the clinic was burnt down in Montreal he's now also finally become OHIP covered. I went to him before he got coverage, but after paying (I was luckily able to use a loan) there was great free revisions within a year (I just needed a bit of extra lipo on my sides), he doesn't use drains (which was something I was looking for cause I didn't want to have to deal with drains), and also even provided steroid shots free of charge to reduce scarring several months later when everything was healed up which worked very well. The surgery was a super smooth process and he was able to book me pretty fast, and the staff are all really friendly and respectful people. I don't know if contouring is OHIP covered with him since he wasn't OHIP covered when I went, but it seemed to be an automatic or frequent part of the procedure for him. Its definitely worth have a consult with him anyway, and you can go there in person in Mississauga instead of having to do things online/over the phone with Montreal. He's a very approachable and helpful person so I wouldn't be nervous about going for a free consult.
