About three weeks ago my fourth novel came out. All four of my books are professionally published (no vanity press/print on demand) but the last one got picked up by a large national publishing house by ways of a literary agent, as opposed to the first three, which were published by a small LGBT publisher.

It's a fictional story about a trans man trying to deal with life post-transition, but heavily influenced by my own life. I wrote it partly to show other trans people that there's life after transition, and the possibility of a stable, full-filling one at that, and partly to show the general public that trans people aren't so weird or different as they might think. I focused on writing a good story, rather than *my* story, so the general public would be interested in the first place. Even if the topic of transgender life doesn't interest you that much, it should be a good read regardless.

National (Dutch, but still) press has shown some interest and so far the book's been getting excellent reviews. It's EuroPride in Amsterdam right now so I'm doing a couple readings here and there and I hope more media will get on the band wagon. I'm not expecting to become anywhere near famous or rich (which is just as good because I was pretty much living stealth so it was scary as hell to go public), but I do hope this can be my contribution to emancipation and acceptance.

If anything noteworthy happens (maybe a translation, seeing as there aren't that many people here that read Dutch ;)) I'll post an update.

I just wanted to share, and encourage people to keep writing about this topic, because there needs to be more diversity in literature.

Hey, it's always nice to hear good trans-related news. Congratulations!

I don't speak Dutch, but I've been to the Netherlands...not much help, I know. :P
