Finally, good news

I just wanted to share my good news and excitement.
After months of searching and feeling like it was a lost cause, I was finally able to find a doctor who offers basically informed consent hormone replacement therapy near me/where I'll be living soon!
My first appointment is on the 30th of this month and it cannot come quick enough. I'm so excited to finally be on my way to medical transition. I've been having dreams of my T-day almost non-stop now. I'm hoping my real T-day will be very soon and that I don't encounter any obstacles.

Some other good news is that my mom is making a conscious effort to call me by my chosen name and refer to me using male pronouns, or she uses gender neutral terms, which is fine, too. I'm not sure if my dad or some other family members will ever be on board, which will definitely get awkward once testosterone changes me, but I'm okay with the baby steps right now.

I'll likely give updates as things progress if anyone is curious. I'll probably be so excited that I just have to share regardless, lol.

Hey, good going! I have found that perseverance usually pays off, but, boy, it sure takes a long time sometimes.

I know this is a teeny bit old, but I just wanted to do a little update.
Today I got my blood drawn for all the tests the doctor requested. The results will be sent to me and my doctor in 2-3 days. My follow-up appointment is quickly approaching (7/28!) and I'm so excited to be that much closer to getting on T.

Will the 28th be THE appointment? It's less than two weeks away.

I'm not sure if it'll be my T day, too. I already got the results back, which means my doctor will have them as well, leaving her plenty of time to come up with dosage and all that. I think if I want injections I'll have to schedule a separate date for the first shot, but if I go with her recommendation of the compounded cream I might be able to get that quicker. I might go that route if it means getting on T sooner and sparing me $168 for another appointment. I know I can always request to switch to injections later if I'm not happy with the cream.

Either way, I'm finding it harder and harder to contain my excitement!

I had my follow-up appointment today (technically yesterday now that it's nearly 3AM) so I thought I'd share the news.

I officially have a prescription for testosterone cream! I won't be able to pick it up until Monday (most likely) because I'm moving on Sunday to the city my doctor and pharmacy are located. I currently live about 1 1/2 hours away and my parents won't be able to pick it up for me due to work.

But even still, I'm only about 4 days away from my first dose of T! I'm so excited. I'm sure it's going to seem like the next 4 days will take forever to go by, haha.

I'm officially on testosterone!
I just applied my first dose just 30 minutes ago. I have a 3-month supply to go through and then it's another follow-up to see how I'm doing with the dose before I get refills.

I'm so happy to be on it finally. I feel very grateful for not having to wait years like some others (my heart goes out to you guys who do have to wait!). I basically went from consult to T day in about a month and a half. Of course that's not counting the 13+ years of questioning and all that stuff and making the decision to start T.
