Seven 'races to watch' seen as winnable

The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund has endorsed 71 candidates nationwide, of which 45 are running in general elections Nov. 6. Denis Dison, vice president of communications for the group, said this is the highest number of endorsements in an odd year when no federal races are scheduled. He said the fund has come a long way since it started in 1991 with only one endorsed candidate, Sherry Harris, who was running for Seattle City Council and won.
