I know I've made posts like this, but it's the 6 month marker on Estrogen and Spironolactone... And quite frankly I need this surgery done.

It's getting to the point where I am feeling SO uncomfortable with my bottom half. I am POSITIVE I DO suffer from Genital Dysphoria. It's almost to the point where I am having trouble peeing in the morning, and hell even washing myself though I still do though thank you my hygiene is actually very good. But I can't take this thing protruding from my body any more. It's just... GYA!

I just don't know how to tell my endocrinologist OR my therapist. Because it's something I have mentioned many times that I am 200% ready for. And I feel like I am just bugging them now. But I keep getting the WPath crap thrown into my face.

It's now to the point where the hormones rushing through my body, my mind, soul and heart just do NOT match the body I have.

Now I am HORRIBLE with articulating my words, I wont lie. So I don't even know how to go about anoither request in without sounding like a crazy person. I just need this done... Please help T_T

They may be throwing WPATH at you because the requirements for any kind of downstairs surgery are a year of RLE. My doctor and surgeon have both interpreted that as my one year on hormones date, but I have heard some that will only start to track the time after you've been on HRT and have legally and socially transitioned.

I would just be straight up with them, and I would actually encourage you to send it in writing so that you can have a record of their response (or lack thereof). The email I wrote my doctor was:

"Hey NAME,

We have an appointment scheduled for 9/15 and I wanted to talk to you about referrals for surgery. I will need 1 from you and 2 from the mental health team. Can you refer me to them so I can schedule an appointment now? Is there any info that you'd need from me that you don't already have access to in order to write a referral?"

Her response was that we could fill out the referral template together at that appointment and she referred me to the mental health team to get those referrals, BUT because I was still 3 months shy of my 1 year on HRT, I'd have to wait to get the referrals until then. So they were all written at that point, I just had to make an appointment to pick them up.

Hope this helps!

Actually it's a good stepping stone.

My dysphoria is just kicking my ass here. I am going to try to make an appointment with my therapist. Because it's to the point where I cant take things anymore >_<
