Hello everyone,

I'm Laura Ann, a MtF transgender girl from the UK, starting my transition.

I have had a long journey to get to the point of deciding to transition.  I am (Blushing) 40, and feel old looking at some of you lovely girls.  I am a big hearted girl, who will always stop and chat to any nice person.

Hope I can make some friends here and have some fun at the same time.

Oh I go by Laura most of the time, unless I'm in trouble then it's Laura Ann, giggle.  >:-)

Luv

Laura,

Welcome to the site.

Congratulations on the decision to take control and make your life better. I couldn't put it into words before last year when I turned 50. I feel I look 10-20 years older most of the time(I am not presenting all the time yet and not out at work).

Thanks for sharing your info. We have members of all ages from around the globe and all points on the gender spectrum. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I will try to behave too, Miss Laura_Ann

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

With warmth,

Hi, Laura!  40 isn't a long wait; there's plenty of time to go forward and enjoy life!  (I'm 62 and just a few months into transition.)

I just wanted to let you know that you've found one of the best places online for us.  Welcome, and have fun!
Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Thank you ladies. xxx

I'm struggling as I don't have any support local, and I am struggling badly with dark beard shadow.

But hopefully with the help of this site I can sort some of those issues.

You've got some support here!   Often members can point out local support groups in your area as well.

Beard shadow!  Yup, my long term fix is electrolysis (ouch), but in the short term, color corrector and liquid foundation are my friends.

Start with a color corrector, pink for light skin, orange for medium light (me), or red for darker skin.  Stipple it on with a small makeup brush.  Then grab a liquid foundation/concealer close to your skin color, and stipple then brush with a large foundation brush.  Apply lightly in several coats, rather than in one thick coat.  The "Beauty" area has lots of good posts on the topic.
