So I now have access to MULTIPLE letters from multiple different counselors all agreeing that I need HRT, and that it's basically my main need right now.
But I have only the one healthcare provider available to me in a paid way, since I have Indian Health System (native american) access, and the powers that be there are using the ancient SOC. They won't even let me talk to an endocrinologist, and they dictate that one is required.
I've been trying to get this dealt with since October, and at this rate I might be able to get a workaround for an 'accepted outside referral' to get into an endocrinologist by spring sometime.
Is there anything a bit more 'creative' I can do, possibly with a little cash up front, to get my prescriptions started? I can wave two or three counselor letters around to get it, but I have no idea what to do or who to talk to. I suspect that I can get refills a lot more easily as long as my doctor isn't being required to prescribe them in the first place.

Informed consent is available in some places in the USA, so if you can find one you'd not need the letters at all. Perhaps if you post your approximate location someone could suggest something (not me, I'm in Australia).

Welcome to Susan's Place. To expand on Informed Consent, Planed parenthood in your area may have a program like that or you might contact your local LGBT center and see if they can direct you to a clinic. HRT need regular blood work every 3 to 6 months so depending on your coverage, that would be about $100 for lab work and a doctors visit which I pay about $100 for out of pocket (really bad insurance). If you shop around, a 6 months supply of estrogen can be had for $40 (in pill form) and I am not sure what the AA would cost as I don't require one.

Spironolactone is super cheap. Costs about as much as a bottle of vitamins.
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

Not so much worried about the price - I can get prescriptions filled pretty easily. I'm worried about getting the prescription in the first place. Sooo much runaround.
There's only one group I know of, with monthly meetings that like to conflict with other things I am doing for work. So kind've isolated here. :(
I'm in the vicinity of Anchorage, AK.

HI Nuuni,

I'm sorry you are hitting this roadblock!...how frustrating!!!... If there is a Planned Parenthood office up there, they often offer Trans health services and I have had a very good experience going through them!

Good luck on your journey!!!
