Laser turned some of my hair white?

So I bought a home laser and it has turned some of my facial hair white lol. They're still really coarse and are not really getting finer. I've had professional laser sessions done but I forget what exactly they said about white, clear, and blonde hair. What are my options right now?

My understanding is electrolysis is your only option. It will remove all of them and will be permanent but it will cost more and be a bit more painful. It took around 200 hours to clear my face but it can run more or less depending on the density of your facial hair.

Do you have blonde hair?  Even professional laser treatments will not work on blonde hair.  It really only works on people with both dark hair and light skin.

You need to do electrolysis - it's the only viable option for people with blonde hair.

I have really dark brown hair and light skin and commercial laser has worked well in the past. My home system had some kind of bleaching effect on a few follicles and now it doesn't do anything to them lol. They're either white, blonde, or grey and I can't really tell which it is.

Oh... I understand now.  In that case, yes, you will need to do electrolysis in order to remove those hairs that lost their dark color.  I suppose pigmentation loss in your hair is one of the risks of using a home laser as opposed to professional laser sessions.  Unfortunately the electrolysis will end up costing more money...  sorry.  🙁

It's a risk with the commercial laser being used too. It really depends on our own  bodies. Sadly somebody's were going to have to do some electro regardless. Hugs

I had a year's worth of laser before I started electrolysis and many of the hairs that disappeared eventually popped back out and were white. I discussed this with my electrologist and the theory that the electrologist's that work there have is that laser turns remaining hairs white.

Unfortunately for me those hairs are thick and tough and they take several zaps and some digging to get them out. I always feel like i've been punched in the face after a session of electrolysis, but fortunately they are getting very close to clearing my face on every session. Once they are clearing my face those tough ones will be gone forever.

I tried laser on my chest. I started sprouting blond hairs. I think it can stimulate hair growth sometimes. It did in my case. Electrolysis took care of it. Never went back. Electrolysis was  more permanent for me anyway.

I'm 5 sessions into laser on my face. I have a darker brown complexion with dark hair. I did notice by session 2 I had some white hairs where there weren't any before. The nurse who does the treatments had no explanation for it. I had about 2 prior to the treatments now there are about 6 or 7 I can see once I've gone through my shedding. I'm just going to do electrologist after my 9th treatment for the few stragglers

My electrologist was going through the downsides of laser while she worked on me. Laser can get rid of some of the dark hair, but much of it will simply turn white.  It can also dry out and become coarse, making it harder to remove.  I had 7 sessions of laser and it mostly turned my hair white. And I had an excellent laser tech.  My electrologist was upset that she feels laser gives people a false sense of what can be done.
