I really can not remember. When I went full time, I found sitting to pee easier, as I tucked  24/7. I actually got used to it and that's what i did. I always did say to myself that I would have a final stand before surgery, but I remember on surgery day I was booked in first off the block. I recall getting up early, out of bed and before I took any notice i was sitting down doing my morning pee, so that was the end of that. I have done the odd pee in the shower (very rare), but standing with a penis possibly as long as 12 or more years.

I made the decision that RLE should be RLE in every way and that meant no more standing.

Dena, I'm with you on your point.  If one is really, truly transitioning, then one ought to be complete in every manner.  Certainly you will attract attention in a women's restroom if your feet point the 'wrong' way.

Make the habit of wiping the seat before you sit wherever you go; that takes only a few moments.

Otherwise, my circumstance was different.  My 'pre-op' anatomy was better sitting than standing, so I preferred sitting.  My dad fought with me - forcing me to stand whenever he was around.  I could not wait for that to end.

With that, my 'last stand' was probably around 1978 or 1979.  There was no point standing, dear ol' dad's stern glance was no longer around to force me, I refused to join along when other guys went as a group, I waited for when the coast was clear at public men's restrooms when presenting as male.

I went through the process of mixing up locations beyond my usual work area wherever I worked as 'male'; I could not let others question why no one saw me stand.

Humour has it at one of my excursions at work during my male fail period.  A co-worker entered the men's room, saw me washing my hands, and apologised for mistakenly entering the women's facility.

It is cleaner to sit (than stand) if your body forces a go while still carrying your bladder bag and catheter; your body is telling you that you are ready to remove that tube.  Use the bidet when you finish.

That was my thing to and resulted in my sitting long before transition all the time. When I didn't, I always got myself and clothing. Hugs

I stood to pee for the first time in several years last Wednesday at my therapist's office LOL

a) Partly because of this topic and I was curious if I could still do it

b) The toilet was just too disgusting to sit on and I wasn't able to wait until I got home

I am happy report that I still have good aim and was able to catch the driblets with a tissue  ;D

Potty topics almost always make me laugh  :D

It will be some men's restroom in the near future that (thankfully) will fade from memory. It will be like asking me the last time I was in a McDonald's play place, except more gross lol. I cannot stand to sit in men's restrooms because they're so filthy
Trying to take it one day at a time :)

I pondered this one a lot as I also knew of what Jenny had done in her book.

I knew it would be hard to beat - especially in a suburban setting.

It was the middle of the night, early 7/21/16 (the day of my vaginoplasty) and I had a bay view from the bottom level of a $4M house in Greenbrae CA before heading to CPMC for surgery in 3 hours.  It was 2am, the window to the bathroom was open directly in front of the toilet, the light in the bathroom was off and the cars were buzzing by on 101 in the background below me.  I saw the lights in the bay in the distance, the distant bay bridge, San Quentin, the local harbor lights, and I pondered my 47.5 years with the wrong parts between my legs - as I finished up.

It was so incredibly profound that about 10 days later - I opened that same window at night and took a 30 second video of the scene unfolding below so I can replay it after the memory fades in time...

Yeah, it beat the heck out of a damn tree Jenny Boylan. But I still love you sister.   ;) ;) ;)

Standing to pee is a "break glass in case of emergency" type thing for me; however, I wouldn't do it if other women were present, but a few weeks ago  I was using a single occupant women's restroom, and someone decided to poop all over the toilet seat, so Crash!

Back in the late 80's, when I was still transitioning. I did it for the last time then, I think.     Even back then it seemed wrong to go standing up.

Ok, not as depressed, but still working on it.

All of you that pee in the shower are gross, ewwww.   LOL

I sit whenever it I can, at home, at work. I do stand at sporting events and other public restrooms at times. The men's lines are sooo much shorter at sporting events, and if I have been drinking the shorter the line the better!!

As a post op - my current #1 science project is improving on the "go girl" design through re-engineering the device.
I think I almost have the proper modifications complete so that I can pee standing if I really needed to.

I wouldn't be doing it in a woman's washroom as others have mentioned and would probably only use it when caught outside in a park or someplace similar.

Mission accomplished.  Last pee has been completed and now I have have a little over a week remaining before GCS.
