Transgender people who take testosterone as part of a transition from female to male can sometimes experience severe acne as a side effect of the treatment, according to a new report.

The report, from researchers at Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, describes the cases of two transgender men in their 20s who both experienced severe acne after starting testosterone therapy.

Yes, testosterone causes acne. It was one of the things I hated about growing up with a male body and testosterone poisoning. Isn't it funny how many of us would have gladly traded this side effect of growing up male for a monthly period, or the pain of childbirth?

I remember when I went through my natal puberty. I was a super pepperoni pizza face deluxe. Once I was on HRT for a bit, I did have a few stray zits pop up. But, nothing major like from back in the day.

I don't mind it because, for me, it never happened. As usual, sometimes it does and sometimes it don't, just like natal males.

Yeah such an obvious topic how can this even be considered acceptable journalism. Of course people born girl transitioning to male could develop acne. The same is how birth boys will start to smell more like girls. Going through puberty once (even if the wrong one) is hard, second is no easier.
