Severe Health Issues post Trans Realization..

So as the title says.. I'm 28 and I'm having severe health issues... Just realized I could be trans about a year ago... and since the stress has grown too much.
Bottom line, I'm an olympic weightlifter and for rhe past month, I've lost about 15 lb.. mostly muscle. I'm having severe muscle spams too. No matter how much I lift or eat my muscle is not coming back..
Did this happen to any of you? Bloodwork came back fine and I don't seem to have a neurological issue. I know excess stress can cause havoc in your body.. but haven't heard of any situatioj where this happens without having a nerve or pituitary issue.

I know very little about maintaining a body at the level you are at but I can see where nerves will cause you to eat excessively or not eat enough. You may feel full but you are not getting the calories to maintain the body at it's current level. If you are not properly eating, that could upset your electrolytes and low sodium or potassium levels could cause cramping.

I know that when I came out, my nerves were so bad I couldn't eat for three days. A few bites at a meal and I felt full. The constant pressure on you to preform and dealing with gender issues could be enough to take your edge off. A therapist might help you get the discomfort down to a manageable level if nothing physical is found.

I've never been a weight lifter, but I've lived with an anxiety disorder for a very long time.

Severe anxiety can do weird (and bad) things to your body.  Muscle spasms are a very common symptom and feature of anxiety.  Anxiety can also have subtle effects not only on your diet, but also your metabolism.  It can affect your digestion.  The acid balance in your stomach and the fluid balance in your intestine can change to the point where you literally can no longer metabolize some foods, and they pass out of your body mostly undigested.  Stress and anxiety produce cortisol, which can affect fat distribution and metabolism.

Go ahead and have neurological and metabolic tests if you need to for your peace of mind, but it may be time for you to see a therapist for gender issues, and to see a doctor who has a comprehensive understanding of how anxiety and stress affect the body.
