I'm new to this site and not sure I'm even posting in the right area but anyways. I'm about to begin transition I'm in the PA area but was planning on moving out of state within the next few months was wondering you all experiances living in different states and wonder what a good state city or town would be to move into to. I have a girlfriend and a newborn. Please don't say California it's a nice place but realistically it's not in my budget and way to expensive for my family

Hi Nicole,

I am from Philadelphia. We have city passed LGBT rights. I go to the Mazzoni Center for my primary care and for group and a therapist recommend by them. Mazzoni has 9 practioners and treat mostly trans. If you move to Philly I can point you to several trans groups and services.

Seattle area. There are a lot of lgbt services and especially inside the city limits there is a huge openness to LGBTQIA people. One negative is that housing prices are high, but it is defiantly worth it

***note. I believe housing prices are cheaper in close suburban communities such as Burien, Seatac, Renton, Lynnwood, and Mill Creek

Welcome to Susan's Place. There are many factors to consider that are not mentioned in your post. Your employment may be an issue but I like Arizona. The Flagstaff area has winter with snow. The Phoenix area has mild winters and well summers that are a bit on the warm side. I moved from California just before house prices started to recover and sold a 1200 square foot condo and with a little over half that money bought a 2000 square foot house about 20 minutes away from the center of the city. There is a fair amount of transgender support including one of the major gender surgeons. Legally they have turned down attempts at bathroom bills and I have never hand any difficulty in the state.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Right now I work with the mental handicap IV stored up enough money to leave and live in for a few months depending on the area.  Seattle was o e place we were looking Into but I have a friend that's lived up there for the past 15 years and she said it's not what it use to be. She moves out and Philly I wouldn't mind but I heard jobs are hard to come by on that side of the state and beside I carry a pistol and I know it's a pain over there with gun lawns calif looks and sound wonderful but way way out.of my price range.

I have to be somewhere were there a good hospital due to my chd illness and be able to find work.  Somewhere that's excepting and yea.

To respond, Arizona has conceal carry without a permit though legally it's better if you have one. Phoenix has several hospitals including Phoenix Children's Hospital which is known nation wide. As for California gun laws, they are a bit on the restrictive side when it come to carrying because you can't conceal carry without a permit and in many areas they are difficult to obtain.

I have concealed carry in PA of course I'd have to transfer but I think it safer to carry at least here where I live and yea can't do gun restriction I have a lot of firearm I collected and love to shoot lol. So the next question is what's work like in Arizona and what's the cost of living over there

Work depends on the industry you are in. Construction is starting to recover, tourism is always present and there is a fair amount of technology in the area. Cost of living is reasonable if you don't want to live down town. For $200,000 you can get a a good sized house in a nice neighborhood. I would suggest looking into the job market before you move. As for fun time Ben Avery pretty much has it all but there are other ranges in the state.

Philly concealed carry is easy to get. If you have a concealed carry from any county in PA you can carry in Philly.

The best Children's Hospital in the universe is in Philly.

Concealed and carry is relatively easy to get in Washington state.
