I'd like to donate but due to a mistake with my tax information I haven't been getting my Child Tax Benefit payment for three months so money's been super tight. I should be getting back-paid near the end of this month but am worried about something. I'm on social assistance and can't afford a credit card. If you sign up for paypal do you get cut off social assistance? They keep track of all your funds and I tend to get overly paranoid about the littlest things leading to being cut off. It doesn't help that my social assistance worker hasn't contacted me at all since I came out as transgender to her through a message on her voicemail... which was about one year ago... I'd really like to help this forum if I can but I can't help but worry about this. Maybe it's just my anxiety taking over, but I'm worried that my worker could be transphobic (there's no proof but the fact that she hasn't contacted me since coming out is concerning). Any other Canadians on social assistance here? If so, are any of you donators?

You would have to ask somebody else about the rules for the programs you are in because I don't know for sure. Paypal works like a cross between a bank and a credit card. They have my credit card on file and charge it whenever I make a purchase. I could have given them an ATM card and they could draw from that. Another solution would be for Paypal to draw from a gift card. I assume you have a checking account so you could also mail a donation to Susan's PO box and eliminate Paypal. Your donation will be appreciated but donate only what you are comfortable giving.
