Moobs 'n' boobs

I'm sitting here killing time until I can start HRT.  The mind wanders and idly speculates.  I am wondering if there is any correlation between 'moobs' and breast development on HRT.

I am not overweight (though I'd still like to get my waist size down a bit before I start HRT), but I have some noticeable male breasts.  Big enough to look kinda cute in a tight T-shirt.  They aren't pecs, probably mostly fat.

So does that bode well for what I can expect once I start HRT, or is there pretty much no correlation at all?

Hi Kathy, I just noticed that you commented on my very first post here in December last year when I was totally lost. It seems we both are heading into the same direction.

I also had moobs before starting hrt and my endo suspected that my elevated prolactin levels could have been the cause for it. It certainly helped a bit for me as my moobs turned into boobs for sure. I'm now almost 6 months on hormones and it has been an awesome ride so far.

I wish you all the best for this new chapter of your life.

Thanks, Jessica.

I lost track of that thread and missed the part where you came out to your wife.  I just caught up with it now.  A belated congratulations on that!  You are zooming ahead with your transition; that's great!

It took me a bit longer.  I came out in June and am just now preparing to start on HRT.  I may be slow, but I'm moving in the right direction.  :)

It could be gynecomastia. I had some of that from late teens and i was pretty lean. By my early 20s i could comfortably wear a small cup sized bra. I would suspect that would bode well for HRT. It has for me, i have developed pretty rapidly.

I have no science to back that up though.

The moobs give you the fatty deposits in the right place, giving you a running start.  At 3 months in, 2 on estradiol, I've had breast 'buds', the hard sore breast glands, for over a month, areolae enlarged, everted nipples, and the shape is pretty close to a Tanner Stage 3.  I went from moobs + a silicone pad to just me in a 34B. :D
Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.
