Pharmacy is taking a long time to process my request.

For the record, I'm not sure where to put this topic. This isn't exactly about hormone replacement therapy, this is more along the lines of the pharmacy itself.

I recently had a prescription sent from my doctor over to a compounding pharmacy nearby- the reason why I have to use a compounding pharmacy is because I am allergic to castor oil, which is commonly used with injections everywhere else where I live. Sigh.

Anyway, this was on Friday of last week. They don't work on the weekends, as well as on labor day, so I called Tuesday to see if my prescription might be ready. The receptionist told me that it won't be ready until later that day or tomorrow (Wednesday), most likely the latter.

The next day I called, talked to someone about my prescription, they put me on hold without word- which I'm fine with, I just want to know what the hold up is- and then she said that she would call me back.

Right before the pharmacy closed for the day, I called again, different person picked up the phone. Asked about my prescription, is there are any updates. She put me on hold. She said it'll be ready on the coming Friday.

I'm okay with delays, but I am confused what they are looking at- I've been told a couple different responses, sometimes nothing at all, and I've never had an issue close to this anywhere else. I keep wondering why I haven't been given a simple, and consistent answer. I feel neglected but maybe I don't need to feel that way.

They are a reputable company, really, but I've only come in there for their products the last times I was there, never prescription. The rates are good here, that's why I preferred going this route, but I'm reconsidering.

Maybe this is okay and I'm just analyzing because I have enough time to do that. I'm going to talk to my therapist later today to see if he's had any issues with that pharmacy, him being trans himself.

Oh, sorry, I was just rambling. Let me know what you think, if you've had any similar experiences, if I'm making a mountain out of nothing, just lay it on me.

Nothing beats going face-to-face in a pharmacy; I've never had good results on anything over the phone.  So I just go in, stand in the regular check out line, and discover GROUND TRUTH!

Estradiol Valerate is in very short supply currently and some people may be waiting a month or two before it will be come available again. If your prescription is for something else, then you may have a problem with the pharmacist.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Ha ha, probably should have done that at the very beginning.
