Passing with wide hips?

So I've got really wide hips. Like around 45-50 inches around (haven't measured in a while but that's the ballpark) and not particularly wide shoulders. I've been on T around 6 months and my hips haven't slimmed down much at all, and probably won't. Even if I lose a lot of the fat around there I have pretty wide hip bones. What can I do to make them less noticeable? Is there even anything I can do or should I just wait until T makes the rest of me look more masculine and hope that it'll compensate for my hips?

Welcome to Susan's Place. Testosterone should move some of the fat off your hip/leg area and put it in more masculine areas or muscles if you are working out. The best way to make it less noticeable is to wear lose fitting pants, possible with a straight cut. Stay way from skinny styles because they will expose your shape. As for the upper regions, An open jacket, a sweat shirt or a padded vest will add bulk to your upper body making the hips less noticeable. If you need to go with just a shirt, a lose fitting shirt would be best and stay way from tight fitting T shirts.

Aydian Dowling (ALionsFears on YouTube) found that building muscle helped to disguise the width of his hips. This is one of the workout videos in his series where he explains how to build a V Taper (broadening the upper body to make the lower body appear slimmer):

No idea how to avoid that video showing up as it does. I just wanted to share the url. ._.

If exercise and working out is something you're unable to do, or you've been advised not to; Dena's suggestions with clothing choices would be a great solution.

It's something I'm a bit concerned about as well. While I'm overweight, the width of my hips can be seen as love handles/fat storage. I've been overweight since the start of puberty, so I have no idea how wide they'll be once my body fat percentage lowers. I'm strength training as well as doing cardio for weight loss, so hopefully if they're super wide building upper body muscle will help draw attention away from them.

Fat redistribution is one of the last changes that most people get on T, and it does not work as well for people who are overweight. So to maximize the effect of that, you'd most likely need to slim down. You could also aid the effects of this by building up your shoulders and upper body.

Your assessment of your bone structure may also be hindered by your size. I used to think I had really wide hips and that getting below a certain weight would make them even more noticeable because they'd be sticking out. At my largest, I had a 40" waist. I'm currently down to 34", T has moved a lot of my remaining fat around (off of hips/thighs, to stomach), and there is still no visible curve to my hips.
