So is there a noticeable difference on the blocked T with spiro vs srs? I have heard yes. I know spiro WILL do its job and feminize you of course but will you become more feminized after SRS? I take one spiro every morning I have feminized but I was also wondering does anyone know how long spiro stays in the system for? People have told me it may only last 24 hours that freaks me out alittle because I don't take it at same time everyday

The half life of spiro is only a couple hours.  The part that affects T is its metabolites which have a half life of approx 11 hrs. Don't be freaked out. It all works in the grand scheme of things. SRS is the removal of the offending organ that produces most of your T.  Most anti androgens are 70 80% effective at binding/blocking T. The real goal of spiro is to convice your body that youre full on T and to stop making it.  And that's a generalized statement... SRS and Orchies are way more effective obviously... but the metabolites get your testicles to quit making Testosterone...

This is just a guess, but if spiro shuts down T entirely, like it has done with me, I can't imagine why removing the testicles would be any different.  No T is no T.

The one advantage though would be not having to take spiro anymore.

The male genitalia are very resilient. Life will find a way... just like a reversed vasectomy. Eventually they'll overcome medication and it'll become less effective. And like anything else... prolonged high doses over years and years are A. Not good, and B. Become less effective.

I take one pill a day so if it has 11 hours lasting then that means by the time I take my pill 24 hours later it's been out of my system for over 11 hours now? Kind of confusing I know I'm not in male levels but does that mean it goes back up after 11 hours ?

I take a single Spiro tablet in the morning before starting work.  I have been doing so for some months.  At my second endo blood draw (4 months), my T levels were below CIS female levels.  Spiro is an effective medication to reduce significantly, testosterone in your system.  Also, consider that E is effective at suppression as well, so when combined with your AA, you will have extremely reduced T levels.

That said, removing the primary organs responsible for T production overall would be the most effective method.

Taking spiro will chemically castrate you. You may or may not have less T then is if castrated. Even if castrated a little T may be present. The main difference is that you won't have to take spiro no more. When I was on spiro, after a year or so I dropped my dose in half. I was still under any recognizable testosterone when labs were run.

Key is half life... every 11 hours half the dose is still active... so at 22 hours, half of the half, and at 33 hours half of the half of the half is active etc...

Spiro blocks the androgen receptors, srs stops production of T that binds to the receptors, depending on your dose and T levels going off spiro after srs can see some hair growth and other things that the spiro was blocking.

I never thought of it like that for some reason lol

So androgen is different from t and it's not blocked after srs? Or maybe it's lowered? First time hearing about this

Testosterone is an Androgen.  They're often used interchangably on here.  There are Androgens (testosterone) and Estrogens just to keep it simple.

How long does hormones last?   Im on E and Spiro.  I think this is more of a Spiro question. How long does spiro pills last in our body untill it flushes away?  Usually I take my pills in the afternoon arpund 3ish. But yesturday I took them earlier around 10am.  But today I felt more adrenaline.  Is it cus of the Spiro that I took it at a different time?   But good thing is no unwanted errections.  Just a bit extra adrealine.  Whys that. That being said for people who have been on hrt for 5+ years does the e and spiro stay in your system of we constantly keep taking them?

The one advantage though would be not having to take spiro anymore.

I had near-zero T on spiro, and the orchi made it a smidge lower...but there were two effects post-orchi that I did not anticipate:

First, the psychological effect of no longer having those little doods was papable for me (pun intended)... It just felt so good to have them no longer constantly reminding me of my "sex assigned at birth" dangling and bouncing about.

Second, I no longer was acutely aware of my E levels...I'd take my morning dose about 7, and by 7 that evening I was scurrying to the med cabinet to get the second half of the day's E. After the orchi, there were several days that I'd forget the evening dose.

But everyone is different, ymmv.

Sorry im still new to this if Spiro has a half life of 9 Hrs then how does it remain in your system to keep the T low to none?  Like when mtf started hrt did they feel women when they were on spiro and after 9 hrs you felt like males again? Just a bit confused.  For me some times i dont feel male at all and when im on spiro I feel more female.  But every one is different.  For me i just shift between genders..I dunno when my T will be low. oh well well see

It means that 9 hours after you take it, 50% of the dose you took is gone, but 50% still remains in your body.. 9 hours after that, the level will drop by a further 50%, again with the remainder still in your blood.

Mikka55, i don't take Spiro so i don't know about that. the only pills i take are  progynova that are a Estrogen tablet.
i still feel the effects of the end of the  Progynova tablets finishing .

For the T,  i was born with very Low Testosterone, like so low that i was just above my Estrogen. that what my GP said after my Blood tests.
