verb

past tense: becalmed; past participle: becalmed
To leave (a sailing vessel) unable to move through lack of wind.
synonyms:   motionless, still, at a standstill, at a halt, unmoving, stuck

"the boats remained becalmed"

I love this word and it's the mood I am in today. While definitionally a negative word, it can actually be an extraordinarily peaceful state (in a frustrated way). If you have every been becalmed, it's one of the few times in your life that there is absolutely nothing you can do to change the course. So, you accept it, knowing that you will move forward, and life will continue.

It teaches reflection and patience. And to bring an extra 6-pack the next time you go out.

If you've ever been becalmed you know what I mean.

Today, I'm enjoying being motionless...... It's a seemingly endless journey, yet I'm patient and see progress......

Becalmed..... great word!

What's yours?
