T increase and sudden period problems?

So they increased my dosage, by just a little and technically doubling it, and my period is suddenly out of control.

I NEVER have my cycle early in the month. It usually comes some time between the 22nd and 25th. But on Aug, 29th it came for three and a half days, which is sort of normal for me except it was ridiculously off. Then just three days ago things are getting weird.

I'm kinda spotting? On and off bleeding. Not even a lot just a little bit of blood every few hours honestly. This has been happening for about two days now and its both annoying and concerning because I'm way too early for an actual period but this is just random. And it only happened when I started my increased doses.

So I dont wanna call them over nothing but is this a normal thing to happen? It's basically my 4th month on T if it helps.

My period timeline changed after my first dose of T. Basically every month it moved up a week until the third month when it went away entirely. Each time it was lighter and shorter than the last.

Had it stopped completely prior to this? At under 6 months on T, it's pretty normal to experience some fluctuations in terms of your period. Unless it is a lot of blood or going a week without stopping, I wouldn't be too concerned. I would keep notes about when it started/stopped and how you would describe it (heavy, light, spotting, etc.). With the increase to your dose, it's possible that your body is finally shutting your period down, and is getting out whatever is currently in there.

Yes I had a very similar problem, mine got x10 more painful than any time i ever had pre-t. more and more was coming out a lot and spitting at totally random times. my doctor put me on depo provera for a couple of years to assist in shutting my system down. it didn't fix everything perfectly but it helped a whole lot and over those two years got easier and easier. i stopped taking depo at the beginning of this year and haven't had any problems since. I'm now about 3 years, 3 months on t. I got put on depo 6-8 months after being on t as it just kept getting worse. I would talk to your doctor if it seems like it's worse than it would be pre-t/unusual.

Had your period stopped completely before your dose increase?

I had had a random, not-quite-full-on period not long ago. During my pap last month, my doc found and snipped a cervical polyp. She told me the polyp could have been the cause for bleeding (the polyp was sent to the lab & was not cancerous, yay).

Anyway, are you going in for gyno exams (I know the suck but not as bad as cancer..)?

Period had been the same as before, not including last months. I woke up bleeding normally but beyond weird cause this is, as I said, too early. Yet it's like I never was now. I also haven't seen a gyno yet since I'm not sexually active or 21 yet, which I was told would be a good time to go.

As unpleasant as this surely is, it's actually an indication that your ovaries are in the process of shutting down hormone production of their own ('atrophy'). Precipitous drops in estrogen and progesterone are what triggers uterine shedding. This is normal, especially within the first six or so months of TRT. Soon you shouldn't have to deal with this anymore. Although, of course, there's always a 'risk' of some breakthrough every now and again (though not at all in my personal experience thus far), but yeah.

That's actually pleasant to hear, so thanks for that Magnus.
