Veronique10

Hello and thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself. From reading the Wiki and over time gaining an understanding of transgender terms, I'm learning that, in fact, I do fall under the umbrella, "transgender." Though born male, for as far back as I can remember, I have always felt a need to wear girl's and women's clothing in order to allow a more feminine side of me to be present and visible. Maybe that sounds cliché, but for the sake of brevity, that's the most succinct way I can describe it. As a child, teenager and young adult, I looked more feminine than other boys/young men and was often mistaken for a girl/young lady, even into my 20s -- slender, long legs and soft, shoulder-length hair. Being with boys for the sake of doing "boy" and "guy" things interested me little. I wasn't good at team sports and disliked all-male "bonding" activities. My heart soared in relative solitude, in nature, and in the company of small groups of girls in non sexual ways, where the topic of conversation centered on "girl" things. All of that is still true today. During my coming-of-age years when roleplaying with boys, I was always the girl, and at one point even had a kind of older protector "boyfriend." Through my adult life, crossdressing and acting out oscillated between doing it and then telling myself it was just a phase. But now in my 50s, I've finally learned to accept who I am. I'm at peace with the person that I am, be it "transgender," "pan-gender," or whatever label fits. When I wear women's clothing in public, it's conservatively. I'm not looking to flaunt, yet no longer do I hide the feminine and softer characteristics of myself when they spontaneously express themselves.

Please allow me to explain my username. "Veronique" was given to me by someone in whom I confided about my transgender nature. The "10" refers to the young age when I knew.... It could easily have been a smaller number, but I like the number 10 because it hints at a sort of double entendre. Feeling confident. :)
