There is a roster of the most common names, by year, available one line. It is drawn from US government sources. For people picking names for themselves, it is helpful to see the typical names in their birth year.

I had to wait 25 years post-op before my mother finally blurted out my female-name-to-be, and then she was all over me to change it to that. After 25 years and all the records, diplomas, and other records! Too late for that. But it would have been nice to know back then, but mom was in so much denial at the time I transitioned that she refused to remember.

I think it's great we get to name ourselves.

I still haven't come up with one of those, I suck at names. I'm fearful of every part of my name, especially the middle name, who came up with that stupid thing.

So that someone doesn't mock me, I often use the most gender neutral names imaginable on the internet. Oh look, there's one above my avatar now, it's almost instinctual at this point. I'm extremely paranoid, I even keep looking over my shoulder when using this site.

The notion of the NSA or some similar agency monitoring my communications and sending people in white coats to lock me away in a lunatic asylum just flitted through my mind.
I hope you don't mind, but you kind of remind me of that character in the time capsule ep of parks and rec.
"So what's your suggestion?"
"I dunno, I'm just scared."

My advice on the middle name though, who cares, lol. I mean who even uses their middle name? My father doesn't even have one. And I literally never used the one my parent's gave me. Just gonna leave it as is.

Unless you want one of those cool three part names where you always say the middle name, that's another story.
