Hey Everyone,

Anyone had breast reduction and then gone for top surgery later? I'm a non-binary femme transmasc person (if that makes sense) and I am currently weighing up the pros and cons of breast reduction vs top surgery. I'm a D cup, recently started binding (which cos of my breast size and density makes me look like I have a Clark Kent monoboob) and I don't wanna be doing that for the rest of my life anyway. I'm on a low dose of T which is working awesome for me. Anyway, I'm considering breast reduction, while be opening to the possibility that gender presentation-wise things may change in future so top surgery might be something I want. I've read that this is not recommended because of potential scarring. I'm still on the fence, I just know I want these tits GONE :)

I don't know about the surgery questions. However as someone who is a D or DD cup, I can say that binding is a challenge, but you can get it to where at most it looks like you have moobs.

I personally don't have experience with it, but I know this youtuber had a reduction before his top surgery and has talked about it in a few videos. Really the only downside from what I understand is the additional scarring.

I had a breast reduction about a year before having "true" top surgery. There were no additional complications or other issues. I used the same surgeon for both surgeries (and actually brought up that my priorities had changed at my 1 year post op from my reduction). He was able to open up my existing scars from the reduction so I did not have any additional scarring or other concerns.

Less surgery is, obviously, better than more. But there shouldn't be too much to be concerned about if you aren't sure that you would ever want true top surgery.

I was wearing a DD at the time I had my reduction but it was too small. I was very large.

Hi, I'm pretty close to what you're describing (NB/masc with femme accents/bigender) and I too have gigantic boobs which I plan to get reduced sometime in the future after weight loss, with the possibility of top surgery a while later.

I really wanna start binding for now, but I'm an even bigger cup than you and I've heard it can be extremely dangerous to do so fulltime at my size. As for scarring, I've heard many FTMs get tattoos over the scarring if that's their thing (you have to wait about a year for it to heal to that extent though), and there are probably some cosmetic procedures that will help reduce the appearance.

Good luck!
